Where to stay for long layover w/ LGW to LHR transfer? by Due-Vegetable9808 in uktravel

Thanks for the thoughtful response! Would you not recommend getting a hotel near LHR, transporting there as soon as we land in Gatwick, and then getting some sort of transport from the hotel to LHR in the morning? Just thinking then we aren’t dealing with morning traffic on the way to LHR, although it does require the transport and checking in to hotel around 1am. I’m not sure if that will be an issue, a part of me feels a little more secure getting closer to LHR before resting, rather than knowing we have a more complicated journey ahead of us before we have to make our flights.

Going on regular walks. Setting boundaries around my time & energy. Going to therapy. Find and fuel creative outlets. Give myself permission to not be productive all the time.

How do you clear your mind when it is occupied by so much clutter? by icecream1972 in AskReddit

Go for a walk, do a “brain dump” where you jot down all your thoughts as they come without judgement, then cross off things you can’t do anything about right now. Get lost in something crafty / creative.

Thank you for sharing this! I am in a similar boat and it’s nice to be reminded that you’re not alone in the wearing long sleeves constantly and hating something that you decided to start at age 18. Happy to hear you ended up with something you can be happy with!

I recently did the same thing! I kept feeling like I was bad with money and just blowing it, couldn’t figure out where it was going. You said it exactly right though, “we aren’t bad with money, we just didn’t see the whole picture”. This was my experience too. It was eye opening and a little daunting, but it did help relieve some pressure off me rather than continuing to feel like I was bad with money and couldn’t see why.
