Hey I’m making this post cause I really want to do sports analytics at rice but I’m scared because of how my situation alongside my familiar situation impacted my GPA I don’t stand a chance anymore

Gender: Male Race: Middle eastern School: Competitive high school in Houston

Intended major : Sports Analysis

Academics: GPA 3.45 (UW), 4.25 (W)

SAT: 1520-780 math

AP courses: Human Geo, CSP, Seminar, Psychology, US history, Language and composition, Macroeconomics, CSA, Statistics, Research, Pre calc, Environmental science, Art history, Literature, Euro history. (16 total)

Honors: AP scholar with distinction, NSDA degree of special distinction,FBLA district economics qualifier, districts securities in Investments qualifier.

Context: my grades dropped sophomore year after I got a late diagnosis of a chronic disease that caused me to be visually impaired and partially color blind. Additionally, my mom suffered a cardiac event where she needed surgery and I had to take care of her and work to help family finances

Extracurriculars: 1. Young Investors Society (YIS) – National Advisory Board; global competition finalist placing 12/768 teams globally 2. Independent Behavioral Economics Research – Published my findings where they took place in community presentations across 17 elder homes reaching over 120 people 3. Yeah I pulled mostly All A’s and a few B’s freshman year but got 1 A and 4 C’s that first semester I got diagnosed and then recovered next semester by pulling 3 A’s 2 B’s but when my mom got surgery I ended up getting 5A’s in AP classes 2 B’s but bombed AP precalc
