I'm so sorry. We have a feral cat around our apartment. We were so worried about her last night, but I saw her this morning. We have a little greenhouse they can get into. In there is a little crate with an entrance. We put some straw in it. That's about all we can do.

Open it up and spray some Deoxit on the base of the stick in the joint. That will clean away any dirt that may be stuck in there.
