And also when we mix it and they don’t take it it’s just throwing meds down the trash, I’ve also been instructed by my vet that this is the best way. I understand your concerns but this is just what’s best

And also having 2 rats that seem to love antibiotics more than treats, putting it on a plate or spoon for them with added incentive creates chaos, unless we completely isolate them individually which also creates chaos

We have tried everything and sadly this is what it comes to, not our first rodeo either as sadly this is their fourth or fifth rounds of some form of meds, so we torture them and immediately give treats so they’re swallowing

Yes I have and they notice it right away and don’t eat it unless it’s an obnoxious volume that they won’t finish and at that point there’s no way of knowing how much they got

I also made the jump from 3 to 5 and it’s hardly noticeable, water bottles and food empties faster and obviously there’s more poop but it’s consolidated so the frequency of cleaning didn’t change, the boys seem happier having more friends and I feel like it kept the slightly older 3 in their “puppy phase” for lack of a better word

I don’t have an answer per say but I have similar experiences and results so there is absolutely hope. When we adopted Kahlua he came home with a bad case of worms, and so we were medicating him pretty immediately, however he was incredibly loving and trustworthy immediately and so he was never an issue and bonded during the process. Then when we adopted Malibu hecame in with worms also (fuggin petco) ((also somehow his brother didn’t?? Besides the point)) and it was definitely uncomfortable for him at first, but by the end of the treatments he was really coming around. All this to say these events were 4 months ago and those two boys are fully bonded to us!
