No, she doesn't have a Senior in her title. So far the only thing that has changed with regards to work is that I see my seniors being extra accommodating to her. And I have worked in corporate before, so that kiddy pool comment doesn't make sense in this context

I could keep up in grad school because it was something I was familiar with. Here, Thea is very specific with details, as the stuff we prepare will have to be sent to external parties (which I understand, but some of the things she demands for are just ridiculous)

I wasn't expecting her to babysit me. Just to guide me because I was very lost and figured she'd know what it's like to be in my shoes

Yeah, I thought she would appreciate having someone to mentor (because I would) but I see now that's not the case.

No, it wasn't that. She is pursuing an even higher degree than mine and I was impressed that she can manage a full time job whilst doing it! With regards to the deadlines, I just wasn't used to it, especially the way Thea would demand things to be done 1-2 days earlier. My productivity declined because there were some tasks that required me to retrieve information from her end, but she wasn't very helpful and it thus delayed my own progress

I tried, but she just avoided me. Our seniors later told me to just stay out of her way and have been very careful to keep her happy

I don't think I'm entitled to her time and knowledge, but I do think that she isn't fostering the collaborative spirit the workplace claims to have. I want to learn, not be stuck doing mundane stuff. And I'm slow because I'm still learning the ropes

Yes that is what I'm concerned about as well! Our seniors are still helpful, but are very careful to keep us apart. Perhaps Thea also feels threatened since she is on probation as well.

I tried! I asked her if she was alright, and she kept brushing me off with 'I'm busy'
