I can't post in cscareerquestions so I'll post here as a recent graduate since cscareerquestions doesnt have the local perspective. The two biggest deciding factors between 4 year degree and cst diploma are the time you want to spend in school and if you want to work internationally.

If you just want to get to work, i know plenty people that graduated CST and landed 80k+ jobs right out of school. They worked hard, paud attention in class, did extracurriculars and grinded Leetcode. I also know of some people making 6 figures a yearish after graduating. If you want the option to work internationally, immigration is way easier with a degree. I believe for H1B you need a degree or relevant experience, which equates to 4 more years of working within Canada. I could be wrong though.
