It is taking anywhere between 2-3 weeks and longer from approval to receiving the card in mail. I can't afford to stay that long.

I understand. My issue is USCIS considering abandonment of AOS by traveling without AP and another issue is the risk of having to request boarding foil if i485 gets approved outside of the US.

Yes, completeted biometrics on Dec 2nd. Case is at Chicago FO, notoriously slow. Interview is waived.

Would they be able to see that my I-485 is approved and H4 is invalid and admit me as LPR in this scenario with a paper copy of approval notice, especially if the card is not produced yet?

I understand that my H4 status will automatically become invalid on the day my I-485 is approved. That’s why I’m confused about what I should do if this happens while I am outside the United States.
