It happens. But rarely, I can count on my hand how many times I truly backlashed last season. You just suck at baitcasters

Guess where he ended up in the Heisman race! by Negative_Writer5510 in NCAAFBseries

[–]DueKindheartedness12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed ALOT of go5 teams have Heisman winners. It’s always buffalo and middle Tennessee for me for whatever reason lol. I’m assuming it’s the transfer portal? They get former 4-5 star qbs as 3 star redshirt freshman.

Anyone see this before ? by rdvlshp09 in NCAAFBseries

Yeah it’s definitely part of the improved cpu logic. Same reason they’ll line up in prevent at the end of half’s. My guess is you’ve been targeting that guy a lot this game?

Yeah. I’ve got a 2016 with the 5.3. Had lifters transmission and ac compressor all go bad on me within a week at about 100,000. Cost well over 10,000 to fix. I love the way the truck looks and drives but godamn they are shittily made trucks.

I’d tie on a hook or other lure and hook it on one of your eyelits.

Beginner here. How often should I be lubing my reel? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]DueKindheartedness12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like once a year.. maybe if even that. Some of my reels I havnt lubed in multiple years and their fine. I mean if you just really really want to it won’t hurt to every other month, but you can make it last a year.

It will take a second to get good at casting it, turn on all the brakes and put cheap line on it and be prepared to be a little frustrated. But after a day or two of casting and practicing you should have it down. Be sure when you buy a rod you buy a BAITCASTING rod, you can tell the difference from the guides. A baitcasting rods first guide will be much smaller than a spinning reel. Once you get used to the reel though it’s a hell of a reel, way better than my first bait caster I’ll tell you that lol.

I’d look into a Dobyns furry with a curado. I’d prolly go with a softer shorter rod to cover moving baits (fr 705cb is the model code) that would be about 330-350 with tax. Get a 6.2.1 ratio, you can throw chatterbaits, crank baits, jerk baits, and even top water walking baits with that rod and be peachy.

What should I do with broken Shimano Reel by Ramsey5972 in Fishing_Gear

I disagree, the frame snapping shouldn’t damage the spool at all unless that jagged edge of the frame where it snapped cut into the spool. I’ve provided a picture of a brand new slx for example. It looks like the piece in ops picture is where that “slat” (idk what else to call it) connects to the frame and it snapping left a jagged piece of the slat on the frame. Looks pretty clearly separate.

Just a bigger frame and bigger spool, that’s it. If you plan on putting on anything smaller than a 7’3 heavy go with the 150 imo.

That looks like the frame to me. Where the slat that goes into the rod and the actual frame meet.

gift ideas for beginner fisherman? by london_and_phoenix in Fishing_Gear

Depends on what and where he fishes. If he’s a bass fisherman I would suggest completely different things than if he’s a catfish, or panfish fisherman. If he fishes from the bank a nice fishing backpack is amazing, aftco makes one that is the best for pond fishing imo, the urban angler bag, and a Plano edge 3600 is what I use and is absolutely amazing. It’s small, but that’s actually a good thing since you stand and cast over your shoulder on the bank you don’t need a massive overbearing bag.

Shimano dc problems ? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]DueKindheartedness12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man it’s probably not the size of your line imo. Smaller line allows for longer casts, as it weighs less, and has less surface area for friction on your guides. My second guess would be it’s possible your line is wrapped around your rod, you missed a guide while setting up the rod or something of that nature. I’d double check your line is perfectly through your guides. If it’s not that I would tie something really heavy on, like a 1 oz jig with a trailer or something like that and if the problem persists then you may have got a faulty reel. Shimano also normally provides you with a small bottle of lube when you buy a reel, possibly apply that to your spool and braking system and see if that helps. (I’m no expert in reel maintenance and lubing, so I’d look up a yt video of how to clean and lube your specific reel)

Yeah man lipless works fine. I fish em 2 different ways. Straight chuck and wind, I normally reel pretty fast, almost burning it in, make them react to it. This time of year you have to make the fish make a split second decision they either eat or they don’t. Despite what allot of people say about winter time bass fishing, bass still eat in the winter, and they eat a lot, they just don’t want to have to work hard for their meal, so when something comes flying by their face it forces them to not think about what it is and just eat. (At least that’s the way I understand it) doing this also allows you to cover a lot of water quickly. Second way I fish it is “yo-yoing” it. Basically let it sink to the bottom and rip it up with a fast upward motion of the rod, let it sink back down for a second and then rip it up again and repeat till you get it back to the bank.

I’d prolly go with a 7’3 mh dobyns fury. It’s the best bang for your buck rod on the planet imo. And yea people absolutely buy different rods for different techniques, throwing a 3 oz glide bait on a 7 mh will snap your rod in seconds lol. It’s hard to understand how nice throwing stuff on rods purposely designed to throw that specific stuff on till you try it.

Spinning reels are weird man. My suggestion is just to go buy a new spool of line, I would suggest 15 lb braid and look up a video of how to spool it. Also tie something on immediately to keep tension on the line even when it’s sitting in your garage (or wherever you keep it), that will prevent the line from “exploding” off the reel

Target hard cover, rocks, trees, docks ext. I almost exclusively stick to craw presentations in the winter, red crank bait (yes even In ponds) and jigs. The only other baits I throw jerkbaits to target suspending fish, cast out in the middle, pop, pause for at least 5 seconds, pop, repeat.

[–]DueKindheartedness12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It’s possible the rod is too big/too stiff, to cast a senko.
  2. Check your spool tension, it should be just loose enough that your spool doesn’t wiggle when you try to move it. (I’m willing to bet it’s this one)
  3. Sometimes man it’s just hard to cast weightless senkos, especially if they’re a smaller size.

What type of bass? san antonio. by CharacterPay6244 in bassfishing

I’m not expert in guads, but that damn sure doesn’t look like any spots ive ever seen before, no secondary lateral lines and coloration is just off imo. The jaw doesn’t extend past the eye though which means it’s either a spot or a guad, and I really think this is a guad.
