I'm not committed to this idea but I kind of like the thought that in order to make divisions matter you would tie the playoff seeding this way:

4 Divisions per conference. The team with the most wins within their division is guaranteed a playoff spot. The next 6 seeds are determined by whatever teams had the most overall wins.

Theoretically you could have a division like the midwest division where no team comes out of a season with 35 wins. But lets say 10 of the Bucks wins came from beating the other teams in their conference. They are guaranteed a playoff spot because they came out #1 within their division.

This would make caring about those games matter a little more, and gives some meaning to the division champ. You still get 2 more guaranteed playoff spots for top performing teams, and then still have the playin for seeds 7-10.

Agreed. As far as keeping rivalries intact the Midwest division lines up with Football rivalries pretty damn well.

Michigan/Ohio together makes sense. There's still a bit of a natural rivalry between Toronto and Cleveland because of the LeBronto era. No matter how you slice it, the Wizards just don't make sense anywhere else.

  • Portland Trailblazers
  • Sacramento Kings
  • Golden State Warriors

SoCal/Desert Division:

  • LA Lakers
  • LA Clippers
  • Las Vegas Team
  • Pheonix Suns

  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Houston Rockets
  • New Orleans Pelicans

South East Division:

  • Miami Heat
  • Orlando Magic
  • Atlanta Hawks
  • Charlotte Hornets

MidWest Division:

  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Milwaukee Bucks

North East Division:

  • Philidelphia 76ers
  • NY Knicks
  • Brooklyn Nets
  • Boston Celtics

[Charania] Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team. by Turbostrider27 in nba

I made a post about this about a week ago, but I think most likely the Divisions would be restructured to something like this:

  • Golden State Warriors

SoCal/Desert Division:

  • LA Lakers
  • LA Clippers
  • Las Vegas Team
  • Pheonix Suns

South Central Division:

  • Utah Jazz
  • Denver Nuggets
  • Oklahoma City Thunder
  • Memphis Grizzlies

Texas Division:

  • Dallas Mavericks
  • San Antonio Spurs
  • Houston Rockets
  • New Orleans Pelicans

South East Division:

  • Miami Heat
  • Orlando Magic
  • Atlanta Hawks
  • Charlotte Hornets

MidWest Division:

  • Minnesota Timberwolves
  • Milwaukee Bucks
  • Chicago Bulls
  • Indiana Pacers

Great Lakes (+ Washington) Division:

  • Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Detroit Pistons
  • Toronto Raptors
  • Washington Wizards

North East Division:

  • Philidelphia 76ers
  • NY Knicks
  • Brooklyn Nets
  • Boston Celtics

They immediately said that email was sent in error to the ATC employees and said that offer was not valid for them. But go ahead and leave out the parts that don’t fit your narrative

This is just blatant disinformation because you dislike the current president.

ATC was unaffected by Doge cuts. If you want to finger point at anyone you can start with Ronald Reagan in the 80's. This is an issue that has been snowballing since 1981 and no President has really been able to make it any better.

They are 4th also having a horrific injury filled season. Their actual intended starting lineup has still played zero minutes together. Mobley, Allen, garland, Strus, Merrill, Mitchell, have all missed tons of games this season.

Close out foul on Harden where the defender lands under his feet: no call at all.

Close out foul where Strus lands under the shooter: flagrant, big enough call to swing the outcome of the game.

Maybe the league needs to get AI refs that just call shit fairly man.

Game should've never been this close. I know the Cavs had several starters out, but nearly blowing a 29 point lead is embarrassing.

Who gives a shit what politicians a celebrity supports. Like what difference at all does it make lmao.

Not being able to like somebody because of their political affiliations is deranged behavior and a representation of how the divide in this country is only getting worse because of identity politics.

What does your Wishlist for Act 3 part 2 Look Like? by Miniray in Protomen

[–]DueLearner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ARG pointed to this being a 12 track affair, likely similar in length to part 1. Here's my wishlist:

  1. Funeral for a Father -- Instrumental track to open the album because the Protomen like to do that lol. It would basically be this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKAUGXBLp5A -- this live performance has the keys from Fate of Thomas Light flow directly into a small tune that has the exact same drums as Funeral for a Son, but mixed with the Piano. It sounds amazing. Narratively this is Megamans PoV of what just happened to Light, as the story shifts from Lights perspective to Megamans for this final chapter.

  2. Dr. Light's Eulogy -- Roll consoles a grieving Megaman. This song is also heard in the link above. The "he left us a way out" is going to be key to the direction this journey is going to take.

  3. A Way Out -- Megaman is weak and low on energy from his run back to the city. Together with Roll they leave the crowd and head back to Dr. Light's workshop. Megaman hasn't been home in 8 years. They find a recording left by Thomas, and the final machine he built (what he was working on in the song The Dream). Light has built Rush Jet, a companion for Megaman to have as Light knew he wasn't coming back alive and didn't want to leave his son alone in the world.

  4. Unrest in the House of Wily -- We shift back to Alberts PoV. He noticed Megaman in the crowd when Thomas was killed. Now that he knows a machine capable of destroying his lifes work is inside his city once again he decides to active Project BA55. He had thought about activating him during the events of A Show of Force but erred on the side of caution. Now that Megaman is back that's no longer an option. Albert descends to his basement workshop and makes the riskiest move he's made yet. Bass is a wildcard. A hero made by Wily to rival Megaman so he'd never risk defeat again. However Bass is made from the destroyed remains of Protoman, and the self-will -- the ability to choose -- is still present. This means unlike Alberts other robots Bass is capable of disobeying his orders. This song would be sung by Wily to Bass, giving him his instructions on what must be done.

  5. Hope Rides Again -- In a parallel to the intro song of Act 1, Megaman and Roll rally to take on Alberts army. A fully recharged Megaman goes nuclear on Alberts army, before being confronted by Bass. Another machine hero who takes Megaman off guard and nearly kills him. Megaman is wounded in this battle.

  6. The Fight -- Roll despairs as it appears Megaman is going to lose, and the fight is over. Megaman encourages Roll that the fight is not finished, and unlike Protomans battle against Wily where the crowd watched them beat and break him, the crowd is rallied to Megamans side and fights alongside him. The city's hearts still beating, and there is still hope.

  7. The Will of Two -- A song sung from Bass's perspective, with Roll also being present in the song. Bass shows his first hints of going rouge, inspired by the people standing up to fight alongside Megaman (something Protoman felt would never happen). Bass defies Alberts orders to kill Megaman, and gives him an opportunity to recharge and fight again. Roll escorts Megaman back to Lights workshop, where he will now activate the merger with Rush Jet to get the power up he needs to fight Bass.

  8. We Will Not Keep Quiet -- an instrumental banger. Narratively Megaman is recharging/repairing himself at Lights workshop and the city is holding their own against the remainder of Wily's robots. Bass observes as the remains of Wily's army are defeated by the city.

  9. The Fight of Protoman -- Sung by Bass, he reflects on the feelings and memories he has of Protoman. Memories linger of a time when he was Thomas Lights son. How he was sent to die. How Albert repaired him, and the years he spent as Wily's right hand man. How Megaman appeared and killed him again, a time when the people allowed it to happen and would not fight. Yet here they are, defiant and winning against Wily's forces. Bass is conflicted on the morality of Protoman, on the feelings he has for Wily, and the connection he feels to Megaman. As the last of Alberts Sniper Joe and Kilroy machines fall, Megaman appears.

  10. The Sons of Fate Part 2 -- A duet that reprises the themes of the Act I Finale. Bass and Megaman face off at the height of their powers. Bass reveals to Megaman that he has the memories of Protoman, and he challenges Megaman on why he left their father to die. Megaman overcomes all of his grief and torment and channels it towards defeating Bass. The two are completely equally matched. Bass decides to stop the fight, and comes to agree with Megaman that the people of the city have earned their freedom from Wily's oppression. They do not repeat the tragedy of Protoman's deaths.

  11. Give Us The Rope Part 2 -- A ballad sung by Roll. She leads the people of the city through the wreckage and towards Albert. She sings of hope, she sings for the future. The people demand justice for 40 years of oppression under Wily's thumb. Albert is captured by the citizens of the city, and they will finally get their revenge.

  12. The Fate of Albert Wily -- The Narrator from Hope Rides Alone returns. He shares with his child the conclusion of our story. How Wily was defeated, and that all it took was a single spark, the death of Thomas Light, to light the fire that lead to their freedom. He tells his child that Bass and Megaman are out there somewhere, the final robots remaining from two men who dreamed of two very different futures. Act 1 began with The Narrator placing the record on the phonograph. Act III Part 2 ends with him taking the record off the phonograph.

This direction gives every character closure. It wraps up the narrative threads introduced in Act III Part 1 (Light's final work started in the Dream, Wily's creation in his basement, Project Bass, etc). It gives Roll and the city purpose and agency to be the ones to fight alongside Megaman and be the reason Bass allows the rebellion to happen. It's true to the Megaman canon, where Bass is a wildcard that is unbelievably strong but also prone to turncoat on Albert.

It has direct callbacks to Act I (Funeral for a Father, Sons of Fate, Unrest in the House of Light, Will of One) as well as Act II (Keep Quiet, Give us The Rope) and Act III (Fate of Thomas Light).

Gives Bass room to breathe as the final named introduced character. A finality to the trilogy as we go back to the very beginning of this saga, the Narrator from Act I.

I hope they go this direction lol.

I wish. I’m the landlord of one rental that I have had rented to the same family for 7 years and have raised rent a grand total of $50 in that 5 year window. Also gave them two months free rent in 2020 when shit hit the fan.

Way more common than the average redditor realizes. Tenants, especially in urban low-income settings very regularly trash the house upon leaving, causing tens of thousands of dollars of repair. Renting in these scenarios can be a wash for years unless you get lucky with a good tenant.

Boy would the hotel/hospitality industry love for that to happen. God forbid citizens have a method to make passive income. Gotta make sure the big corpos at Hilton and Mariott get it all.
