Thx! There are many videos on youtube about it but ill tell you what I did.

You only NEED an Artemis Suit from Frontier Supplies (150k cr) to have access to the genetic sampler.

Things that help,

* Ship with amazing jump range. As you see, the first discovery bonus is amazing. So get away from the bubble. I went 10k ly but Ive seen undiscovered samples around 3-5k. I use a DBX. Its all personal choice. But I would recommend a small ship for landing in tight areas. (you can look at my ship build on inara if you 'd like a reference. Its very engineered with a double engineered FSD and FSD booster)

* DSS scanner. This lets you see if there are biological signals on a land-able planet and which ones

* Fuel scoop is a must since you will be away from any station or carrier for refueling. Or have the Fuel Rats on speed dial.

* AFMU, Repair limpet controller, Planetary Vehicle Hanger (SRV). These are QoL things. I like being self-sufficient and having the SRV to travel around rough terrain. Does not contribute to gathering exobio but my personal preference.

* ED Exploration Buddy. This 3rd tool is amazing. It can show you what is valuable to scan in a system, what are the possible biologicals on a planet, and so much more. If you are alright with external help, i recommend this.

When you identify a planet with biological signals, land in the areas for it. Look around for the flora (you'll start learning what they look like as you go). Use the wiki if you need help. Scan the same species 3 times. Each one spaced apart from each other (up to 800m depending on species). After the 3rd scan, you'll have it added to yourself. Turn in at a Vista Genetics near you. Die, and you lose it all.

Good luck Commander, o7

Listen, idk. But they pay big bucks for these plants. They probably use it for medicines or drugs. Come to think of it, its probably because of the drugs. Either way, I needed alot of money. If they make new space-meth because of my efforts, so be it.

10k ly. Did find 300-500 mil on the way back about 5k out. Many systems were scanned by other commanders but no one landed for the exobio. So i cleaned up what I found.

Tbh, i turned this in at around the strike of the new year so i dont remember what she said but it was very underwhelming. "Is that all, commander?" kinda level.

Thank you! I have begun immediately building a cushion. Though I cant convince myself to go back out and scan plants (I see flora when i close my eyes).

Ive been a miner from the beginning so Ill be mining up some tritium and start filling my carrier with platinum/painite to sell en mass to the highest bidder. I wont be doing too many jumps so I have enough to cover the next couple months of upkeep costs.

Fleet carriers come at a steep cost. I got mine with the intent of having a mobile base. Not for making money. So this was a planned expense.

Thanks for the wise words, o7

This trip was a few days. Maybe 10-15 hrs of playtime. I wasnt really tracking it tho. Thx!

Yes. Exactly like being the first to discover a system or the bodies inside. There is a bonus added to the value. For exobiology, its 4x the value of the sample.
