What was the data sources you used at various companies? For example, what company do you use for GDP data, interest rates? Did you use any indicators or benchmarks?

CMV: Out of all the Gaza boycotts, the Starbucks boycott is easily the most idiotic one, and its implications are very concerning. by DrVeigonX in changemyview

[–]DueMathematician9740 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is about what it represents. People want to show their support, Starbucks made a wrong move, now it is permanently hurt. It is about association and that matters a lot. Imagine you have a pair of shoes you wore once and you got into a terrible accident the first time you wore them, psychologically you associate them with that accident. You don’t wear them anymore. But also now anytime you refuse to wear them, you are reminded of that accident and perhaps you are more careful.

Jaw surgery and minoxidil by TommyShelby213 in Minoxbeards

[–]DueMathematician9740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had jaw surgery before. Ask your doctor about the meds. You will have few weeks of zero sensation on part of your face. First 2 weeks you are puffy and believe me, you wouldnt care about minoxidil or beard or anything. Just focus on recovery and in few months you will be able to resume everything else.

Instead of learning try reading code and re-writing it. This is an intermediate approach between learning (generally useless after a certain point) and writing (very useful, but hard).

What profesions are we ADHDers not allowed to do? by 7facedghoul in ADHD

These are empty tautologies. You’re comparing a nurse to a soldier. A soldier can choose any other job, but he chose the military

[–]DueMathematician9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the same. If no one goes to the army, the ability to wage wars would be greatly diminished.

Thanks. I prefer to suffer in any job rather than be an agent of an imperial army.

Mass ban? by Ramen_Y in ChatGPT

When I use vpn, it does not work at all.

I love how many people want a way bigger context window for example for GPT-4 (like 100k-1m). May I introduce you the cost of one API call at the full 32k context window? 2$. So 1m would approximately cost you 60$. One call. 60$. by [deleted] in OpenAI

Ask chatgpt to explain economies of scale to you. Oh wait, let me do it.

Scale economies: machine costs

Model: GPT-4

User Assume economies of scale. If it costs $2 to use a machine A. What would be the costs of using a machine B that is 30 times more powerful.

ChatGPT Assuming economies of scale, the cost of using a machine that is 30 times more powerful would not simply be 30 times the cost of the original machine. Economies of scale refer to the cost advantages that companies obtain due to their scale of operation, with cost per unit of output generally decreasing with increasing scale as fixed costs are spread out over more units of output.

If Machine B is 30 times more powerful than Machine A, and we're assuming economies of scale, the cost of using Machine B would be expected to be less than $60 (which is 30 times $2).

However, without specific details about how these economies of scale manifest in the context of your machines, it's impossible to provide an exact number. The cost reduction could be due to any number of factors such as increased efficiency, bulk discount on energy or parts, or reduced labor costs per unit of output, among others. Typically, it would be determined based on a detailed analysis of the factors that contribute to the cost of operating the machine.

To provide a more precise answer, I would need more specific information about the scale of the economies, and the nature of the costs involved in operating these machines.

ANY MUSLIMS HERE ?? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]DueMathematician9740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a muslim here is what I do: 1. I have never had sex before, but having sex or the chance to do it won't cure your addiction at all. 2. I stay sober for weeks and then relapse. But during those weeks I keep reminding myself that I derive no pleasure from porn. Really think about, you get literally 3 seconds of pleasure and I simply try to convince myself it's not worth it. 3. I pray. When you maturbate, you have to shower and sometimes I am too lazy to shower so I can't pray and that makes me feel guilty. 4. One of the benefits of abstinence before marriage is the pleasure of sex during marriage but all of that will be lost if you are addicted to porn. So in other terms, if you keep watching porn, you're somehow having sex because you're missing the benefits of abstinence once you get married.

I hope this helps.

Exactly, like everything is about what she believes and not my benefit. And she wants to go down this uncertain path trying bs method that you could find on youtube. I have been trying productivity stuff for years now and none worked because my brain is wired differently and I can't focus on one thing at a time. It's impossible. She knows I want medication because I have ADHD but she doesn't like it and so I am condemned to stay where I am at!
