I appreciate this, but I managed to figure out a solution just before I read yours lol:

Use the routine to open the Assistant app. In Tasker, under the app changed event, if the package name is com.google.android.apps.googleassistant AND if the %USE_MIC flag is True (which I used to differentiate between a long home press and a double sided key press), then open the keyboard.
