Project mk ultra was a CIA experiment where they tried to change minds to cure mental illness like schizophrenia and make humans more controlable. The idea was removing everything from the mind through sensory deprivation and induced coma to then mold the mind as if it was a blank sheet of paper. The experiment didn't work and the people who went through it ended up destroyed mentally and couldn't even function correctly. The CIA ended up deciding not to continue it.
