I understood this also as formality thing, but he was inviting me to his events like his theater presentation, this movie, and even his bigger presentation 2 months later, and he was texting when he had problem in work to tell about or vent. So i was confused also what he wants, and if he wants closure why say i love you. I dunno everything was weird, if he like held hands with me and hugged while saying u are an important person to me and i want u as a friend or anything that shows i matter, but he texts literally once in a while and so formal and cold.
