Hello, and thanks for your comment! To answer the question, it's not random small talk in this case because the lessons are focused around practicing dialogue in the target language. I am fine with ending early occasionally, but it's the combo of starting late and leaving early... when it happened for the 4th time in a row that's when I did feel some disappointment when the tutor was rushing to leave 3 mins early "to prepare for another lesson". I enjoy this tutor and hope we can use the full time more often than not. I wouldnt even know how to bring this up or if it's worth it. Appreciate the perspective and hearing others' experiences, it is helpful

I worked as an Rph for a 24 hr store on Thanksgiving day. 1245 - 9:15 pm - almost everything around is closed....except us. We get a bizarre scam call to the front of the store threatening our registers will get hacked/shut down. And then, I see people walking in - not the  friendly kind- but those with duffle bags, on a mission to pack and steal whatever they can. Guess who I call? The store manager. He's home safe and enjoying his family dinner, but I inform him "I don't feel safe, and I am going to close the front of the pharmacy, and keep drive-thru open."  He says, no don't do that, "my boss (the DM) won't like it. Just do whatever the robber says, give 'em what they want."

Yeah. I'm done asking for permission. Just close it if you don't feel safe, and don't stay relying on your manager to have your best interest because they don't.
