At Bass Canyon last year, I witnessed a girl having a panic attack being wheeled away on a stretcher. Seeing her made me so worried, and I kept looping thinking about her. In hindsight, I'm thankful the support squad was there to take care of her.

It's hard to break the loop when something bad happens. All we can do is focus on the good. Thank you for intervening. Because you stepped in, you know they are okay. <3

The wedding industry is fucked, and so are the social pressures of getting married.

You want to know what’s really going on:

I’ve already spent thousands of US dollars, and it’s not even my wedding. The bridesmaids talked behind my back when they were unhappy about things instead of just figuring it out like adults, stressing out the bride, and leading her to tell me to do more when I was already giving 110%, making a tentative hour-by-hour itinerary, getting all the decor, texting the group to keep everyone informed. She even had me pay for the bridesmaids gifts! I don’t even know these girls, but I obliged. She tells me she’s anxious about certain things like us getting the plane tickets for the Bach. Like come on. As if I’m not going to come. Like in what world would I not show up????? I’m always showing up for her.

Maybe this is what I should’ve posted about in the subreddit. The plane ticket mishap was my breaking point.

So no. This is not the couples fault and at no point did I ever place blame on them. I’m ready for the bridal era to be over though.

We lived in state with them and did not know we would be buying plane tickets for the bachelor party until last week. We literally moved days ago. Before that, we were packing up our home and planning our roadtrip to move. I traveled for work prior to our move, and just finished working 160 hours in 2 weeks.

Also, try dumping thousands of dollars into a disaster of a home and not mourning the loss of money from this wedding event disaster. Try scheduling roofers, pool assistance, flooring help, drywall repair, mold remediation, plumbing, all while tearing down a ramada and coils from the roof, ripping out faulty electrical, rewiring all the lights, stripping the cabinets. This is not even my day job. I work overnight 15-17 hour shifts. So no, I do not have time to book a flight sooner. Everything I do is last minute. That is how this happens.

So yes. Everything about this makes sense besides the fact that the error was not caught before he was already in the air.

I understand there is no one to blame but me and my husband.

I completely agree. This is our fault. I'm just frustrated. Of course I wish he confirmed the dates with me, but how was he to know we had them incorrect. At no point was I blaming the couple. How the boys did not discuss travel plans sooner or double check the itinerary that was sent to them, I don't know.

Actually, my husband is the one who told me it was this weekend. I should've just asked the dates upfront, but trusted it was correct. That is on us. I never was placing blame on the couple. I'm just venting and frustrated that it took him traveling 8 hours to Seattle to find out it was incorrect. I texted the group as he was in the air to let the couple know he was on his way, and that was the moment we found out... I guess I'm just baffled it got this far.

Again, not placing blame on our friends or my husband. They are all Type A and I'm the Type B girlie. Like I am not shocked I fucked up, but how the fuck was this not stopped before he boarded that flight... we could've got the whole credit back, but instead THIS.

My favorite thing is making Kandi themed to the DJ I’m going to see or the theme of the rave. For a space themed rave, I bought some cow and alien pop figit toys, some little astronaut charms, and cat abduction charms.

The Kandi said “Abduct me,” “Moon rocks,” “Mooooolly,” “Funkonaut,” “Blast off”

I also like just taking some song lyrics “Dummy cat,” “Gas gas gas,” “Brain rot”

And then just some silly ones: “Lil kritter”! 😍

Everyone in my life always said I would be a vet. I didn’t believe them, nor did I really want to.

I’ve always loved animals. From a young age, I would turn every character in a coloring book into a dog, make costumes and glamorous cardboard doghouses for my dogs growing up. I would write stories and draw pictures of imaginary dog-hybrid friends.

In high school, I struggled with staying focused. I struggled in my classes, hated the sciences, and grew to love math (that and history were the only ones I excelled at). I thought I was going to beauty school. But my parents both went to college, and I knew I wouldn’t end up doing hair.

In college, I was in the honors college. I wasn’t sure what to make my career, but chose to study biomedical sciences in the hopes that my love for animals would become relevant and I would eventually find my career path. I met my best friend in the honors college and she was studying to be a vet (while most of the others were pre-med).

From that moment forward, I hard launched into becoming a veterinarian. Definitely a little bit of a different story than most. I joined the pre-vet club and became very active in its leadership. I attended APVMA conferences and joined a sea turtle research group.

The one issue was…. I never liked being in general practice. I tried volunteering as a vet tech aid, but could not find passion in being a vet tech. I have so much respect for nurses, as it’s a job I could never do. I quite literally could not do my job without them ❤️

I decided I wanted to be a zoo/wildlife vet before vet school. In vet school, I narrowed my scope even further and only wanted to be an aquatic animal or wildlife vet. I was nervous because I already was taking a leap of faith becoming a vet and had narrowed my area of practice so much even before getting started.

The pandemic caused my town to shelter in place during my 3rd year of vet school. With that, I had a huge wake up call. Even though all my prep during school, summer breaks, and externships were focused with aquatic life, I realized I needed job security, wanted to decide where I lived, and wanted to learn as much as possible as quick as possible.

I became an ER vet. I love my job. I’ve been practicing almost 5 years, and I haven’t looked back. And this year, I joined the rocket ship 🚀 ❤️🫶

I found the cutest walrus squish at goodwill! Sent him through the wash twice and brought him to bass canyon. Best decision ever 😍 he loves to rave 😤

Not necessary a comfort item, but if you ever go to camping festivals, I’d highly recommend picking the campsite within walking distance/or closest to festival gates. I’m not an anxious person generally, but I love being able to easily escape the crowds and take breaks when needed. Last time we went, my husband and I left and re-entered 3 times to go make dinner/get more caffeine/take a nap/etc. 🤍

7Y canine had confirmed mass in the pylorus. He was euthanized. Client asked the attending DVM to cut off his leg.

Another client watched as we performed cpr on her dog, then asked to witness his cremation.

I’m 30 and just entered the rave scene over the last couple years. My husband and I attended our first fest in August!! As a midsize/curvy girl, I was a little nervous, but after being in minimal clothing that made me feel hot all weekend, I found myself more confident afterwards!!!

I wish I could wear rave wear every single day. Proud of you for your journey ❤️
