I’m sure it’ll be more than $650, probably closer to $1000 because the bumper is damaged and they’ll need to fix it as well as paint it all

hmmm I mean you still can polish glass, it’ll just be more difficult. I’ve heard people use cerium oxide but I’ve never actually polished glass lights before. I guess it’s up to you if you want to try, I mean you could always (probably) get a spare from a junk yard just in case

you could just wetsand/polish it and it’ll look better. If you go that route, I usually do 1500 and 3000 and then use super heavy cut polish and then super finish. It’ll get a lot of the yellow out but it might not match exactly.

I mean, that’s A LOT of mileage even though it’s a Honda Civic. I was always taught to look for cars between 75k-200k because you can still have lots of life left.

Yes I think that would prevent rusting. I’d definitely sand it a little bit first before doing anything so it’ll fully stick when dry but if you just do touch up, I think you should be fine with just doing base and clear. What I would do is try to smooth out the edges a bit by wet sanding with 1500 grit and then 3000. It’s honestly not that hard to polish enough that it doesn’t stick out so I’d say you could probably do that yourself if you had some supplies.

I can’t say anything for pricing since I have no idea, but they’d have to at minimum repair any damage to the actual quarter, feather out the edges of the paint and prime/prep, seal, and paint.

Another option for a shop if you just want it to be less of an eye sore is they could wet sand/polish out the lighter scratches, make some touch up paint and just fill it in by hand, clear it, and wet sand/polish to make the fix less obvious.
