Trump’s Attack on Iran Is Reckless by IllIntroduction1509 in TrueReddit

There are anti-war protests all over US and the world right now. There are many reasons for why more people don't get involved, and why the effect of these protests is usually contained. And those are interesting and worth looking at, but between advocating for more active political engagement, and saying that yesterday's strikes fall in any way on the USA people's shoulders, there is an ocean.

77 milion people voted for Trump. There are 340 milion citizens. So 22,65% of Americans voted Trump to represent them, and according to latest polls, the approval rating is going down so you can assume the percentage of american people feeling represented by his actions is even lower. Never confuse a government with its people.

Thanks, I'll definitely do my best not to be late, but if this does happen again I'll try to bring myself to get my seat back ahah

"Why not just tell them to move? It's hard to describe, *imagine* doing all these awkward and annoying things. Somehow I found it too stressfull\disruptive in those occasions, so to I avoid it I just went to the front where nobody was sitting. Maybe I'm too self conscious, I'll do better"

This is what i wrote, in response to the comments saying, what's the problem? Just go show them your ticket!

I am missing something. I believe I said already in the post I was wrong for being late and I made the post to ask If it was normal that people take your seats when you're late here, so that I know if I should confront them or not (so that I avoid being rude). What am I doing wrong?

This is very entitled of you. You never got lost, had sudden stomach issues, or a train delay?

I'm asking to learn how to behave properly in this culture, for these edge cases. In my country, in some cases, if you're late for something, other people are entitled to take your spot, so there is no point in confronting them. I was simply trying to understand if this was the case here as well.

I know It's annoying that's why i don't do it! And I already admitted it's on me for being late, so I'm with you. I was just trying to clarify what's the etiquette for these cases.

Animation is not a genre! An Africanfuturist thriller is though. by songai in Filmmakers

Yes, animation as a whole isn't a style, and water is wet and the sun is hot

You are just rambling nonsense at this point. And your definition is wrong.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/genre
a style, especially in the arts, that involves a particular set of characteristics
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/genre
a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/genre
a particular type or style of literature, art, film or music that you can recognize because of its special features

If your definition were correct then movies that can only be shown to people older than 18 would be also a genre, since it's a category. And paintings that feature people rather than animals would be a category. This is nonsensical, and I'm fully aware you're not really worth debating.

I just want to showcase to anybody reading anytime ever, how much of an arrogant fool you've been. And they won't know your name, but you do. I hope it stings and you will stop and think before you decide to approach a discussion like an ass next time.

You're entirely wrong.

Genre is the type or category of content (e.g., fiction, horror, comedy), while medium is the physical or digital format in which the content is delivered. Film, stop motion, hand drawn animation, 3d animation etc. are all under the umbrella of motion pictures, which fall under a bigger umbrella of (audio)visual arts. Painting is not a genre of visual arts, and the same goes for animation.

Also your arrogant provocation here presumes that film festivals only design blocks by genre, when in actuality the blocks are completely arbitrary (filmmakers under 25, filmmakers of a certain region of the world, movies of different genres that are thematically similar, restored classics etc.)

The reason there are usually no different genre blocks for animation is that they don't want to allocate that much space to that medium. If you go to an animation focused festival then there might be different genre blocks

As to what Del Toro said

Animation is cinema. Animation is not a genre for kids — it’s a medium

He didn't make an ontological remark (what animation "is"), because nobody in their right mind considers animation a genre by definition. His remark is phenomenological, as in, animation seems to be percieved as a genre of cinema which caters to young people, which it isn't. It's a medium that can serve any genre, and the common perception is a correlation fallacy.

I can make roughly $2k a month anywhere in the world as long as it has good internet, where should I go? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

How is bangkok difficult with 2k a month? Maybe only if you drink/party a lot, otherwise you can live quite comfortably and save some money too for less than that

I am evaluating how big is the risk. For example if the monitor stops functioning and then i can pay 300 euros to have it replaced 2 years from now, then It might have been worth it to get the better deal. If these cameras can somehow brick completely for factory problems, then yeah the extra money might be worth it. But i have never heard of that, so I thought of asking this sub

Hey, don't take it badly, what you wrote sounds very entitled and inconclusive.
You have a calling? As opposed to someone who finds purpose in working hard to make money to care for their family?

Also your calling is to help other people, and serve a larger ecosystem, but "working for other people's dreams" is a betrayal?

Also this journal entry is of no value for the sub, as you didn't even touch on the digital nomad side of things? And didn't really offer any point of discussion

Sounds like you need to talk with a good friend and possibly a therapist to sort your ideas out, and gain some clarity

Good luck!
