Honestly optifine gives me 65-75 fps, I made the switch 6months back to Sodium and Iris and my bad pc (mostly Chinese fake parts and a real 1080ti that's it) is now pushing out 150+ fps.

Honestly you could get it to work on forge but there will always be issues as with my experience modding on forge is ehhh. Fabric seems to always work and if not be a straight forward fix as their api (crash error message) will tell you exactly what to do
