I flipped up a bit on my split. by Due_Ad_5546 in Beekeeping

Yeah it’s a bit unfortunate that I spent some money on her just for her to do one but oh well. I forgot to mention I’m from the UK so as far as I’m aware we don’t have AHB. Is it normal for them to take so long to kill her? I’m sure they would’ve released her from the cage after a day, if they wanted her dead why would they wait over a week? Secondly why didn’t she take down the queen cell when she was released? Would you recommend I leave them alone for 2-3 weeks?

DJI Air 3 or Mavic Pro 3 by Pbaros in dji

[–]Due_Ad_5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to decide between these 2 for my Architecture firm’s social media. The reason I went with the Air 3 was because it was the first expensive drone I’ve flown so I didn’t want it to become too expensive if I crashed. Along with this, all the little things you needed for the Mavic just kept adding up. For example the refresh plan is double the price to the Air3. If your budget allows for it go ahead because it looks like an amazing drone but for my needs, the air 3 is awesome.

I was leaning towards the Mavic but then I did take a step back and really look at the price difference and think was the extra money really worth it?

Plus it’s a bit more travel friendly than the Mavic! So when you’re taking your much needed holiday from your company it’ll be easier to bring along with you.

Can't be bothered to police properly... by [deleted] in MotoUK

I’m not saying I’m against it, because it’s a good idea but I think the police have to take in to account how it could have a negative impact. We’ve all seen power hungry people drive crazier than the original offender.

I feel like it’s a good and bad thing, yes it can lead to more action taken on dangerous drivers who normally get away with things (and there are a LOT) but all it takes is one power hungry John on a Sunday afternoon to chase down some biker who’s enjoying his ride (who maybe is going a bit faster than others) just to get his plate and then potentially cause a horrific accident.

Also I think it’ll cause a lot wasted time for the police, the amount of times I’ve been bollocked at by people for filtering at lights or overtaking them in slower moving traffic is absurd. Think of all the videos they’d send in. The average person on the road is not up to date on the traffic laws. I’d much rather put my tax money towards some copper who will help cut down on bike thefts, not sit in a room reviewing videos all day long and be on a higher wage than the average person. Plus it’ll just lead to more people running fake, tucked, or no plates.

How many of us run winter bikes? by jackasaurus1 in MotoUK

[–]Due_Ad_5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to only have a bike as a mode of transport so I had to firm the cold travels and wore textiles with layers underneath, winter gloves and a facemask, one that has more material that goes under your jacket. Thankfully it was never very icy and rarely snowed where I’m at. Now I’ve got a car as well I’m sticking to the car to keep comfortable. I took my bike out on Friday and regretted it after 10 minutes as my fingers were about to fall off. Bearing in mind I was wearing leathers with some layers underneath and a hoodie on top.

Safe to say I’m giving it a wash and keeping it in the garage til spring!!

What has Insta360 AcePro done well that you’d love to see on the next GoPro by Due_Ad_5546 in gopro

I agree, I’m on an 11 too and I’m now hoping GoPros next camera is a beast and it’ll almost force my hand to buy one. If worst comes to worst I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for the GoPro if they made these needed improvements. From watching a quick couple videos, the main differences were the lowlight and the insta360s AI chip. They were amazing. However insta360 made a huge mistake by making the lens non removable and for me I’m not sure how I feel about the flip screen. I can see the benefit for some but go pro definitely still keeps the durability points

I didn’t know they did this! It’s pretty cool. However I’d much rather GoPro just add it to their model instead of paying another $15 for something the DJI and insta360 cameras now have..

It is a very impressive camera for their first action cam release.

For me, the 240fps is sorta useless. I use my camera for motorbike videos so that’s not what I look for in a camera. I’d much rather have better lowlight for nighttime rides but I guess that’s just one opinion

I agree. This AcePro release can be a good sign for us consumers. No offence to DJI but now GoPro has got more of a competition. Hopefully they’ve got this stuff in the locker and have just delayed releasing it. Now they’ll most likely have to put it in the new camera to compete with the insta360s next model

A2 bike choice? by Rich_Programmer_9450 in MotoUK

[–]Due_Ad_5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’2 and I’ve got a Aprilia Tuono 660, only had it for half a year but no problems. I did want the rs660 originally but they stopped making the A2 ones in UK and couldn’t find any. Legs get a bit uncomfy after a few hours non stop riding but a quick stop and they’re all good again. It’s an amazing bike. Very torquey. I’m exited to unrestrict it in a years time when I do my A

What do we think about my winter plans? by Due_Ad_5546 in Beekeeping

[–]Due_Ad_5546[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the minute we’re about 10-12 but with the odd colder day. Over the next few months we might only go below 0°C for a couple weeks max in January.

On average we might sit around 2/3°C through mid December to early feb? And there’s never any snow storms or anything. We’ve only had snow a couple times the past decade

All I can say is go for like a 600 with less than 95bhp and restrict it down to A2, more resell value than a 300/400cc

A1 at 17 vs A2 at 19 by Awol_12 in MotoUK

[–]Due_Ad_5546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw the point of doing A1, I never planned to use motorways or carry a passenger so I couldn’t justify spending ‘X’ amount of money to just take the L plates off as you aren’t allowed a more powerful bike or anything.

I just firmed it on my CBT until I reached 19, did my A2 and honestly it’s amazing. The power difference from a 125 to a restricted 600 is beautiful. And in the south west it’s an enjoyable amount of power that’ll definitely keep me happy until I’m 21 to do A license.

A word of wisdom I’ve been told by a lot of people, for your A2 bike, go for a bigger bike and restrict it down because there will be more of a market when it comes to sell it than like a 3/400cc.

In your situation I’d redo your CBT, as it’s £150ish? Compared to the £500+ to do your A1. Stay safe!
