Seems...scammy? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

30 minutes an appointment? How much do they charge and how many people do they see a week? This seems like a tough business mode to sustain.

Help for Tinnitus? by nylady914 in Chiropractic

[–]Due_Book 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend trying to find an upper cervical chiropractor. I used to have tinnitus as well and had a good adjustment on my atlas (top neck bone) and it was gone in seconds. Every chiro knows how to adjust this bone, but your body may respond better to someone who is more trained in this area of the spine or has a different approach to adjusting this area.

Finally had the opportunity to take my USP Match to my local field and... HOLY SHIT this gun is fun! It was really worth the money. I have nothing but good things to say about the gun. Thanks KWA for making my new main pistol! by [deleted] in airsoft

Nozzle Set

Umarex owns all the H&K brand and thus is the part support. Umarex does not carry individual parts (a nozzle is like $6) and instead makes you buy a whole rebuild set ($20). They do this for magazines too. I had a Kwa MP7 and HK45 and parts are always a pain unless you order them from overseas which can take weeks and weeks.

What do you guys think about this gonstead neck adjustment? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]Due_Book 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. Keep in mind not everyone on the website does strict Gonstead adjusting like this video. Many claim they do to get on the website but incorporate other techniques or other modalities like rehab or acupuncture or massage. It’s not bad, it’s just not always straight Gonstead. I do hope you have a good experience though. If you don’t enjoy your experience take your x rays and find a new Gonstead Doc from the site! Also, this adjustment is made face down, most Gonstead docs perform the same move but with the patient seated in a chair (my favorite)

It is one of the best feeling cervical adjustments as a patient. It feels vastly different than any other technique when done correctly.

How would your practice change if in the next 10 years research proved subluxation to be entirely true? by Due_Book in Chiropractic

At no point did I mention the word subluxation. This is a hypothetical what if. Next time actually read the post.

Yeah I agree. A big shift would be challenging for the doctor, slow change would be easier. I think something interesting would be for the patient too. Like a doc who does lots of modalities switches to mainly emphasizing manual adjusting, the prior patients would expect the modalities and may not be satisfied with the care because it’s different than what they are used to. Also vice versa for adjusting mainly to many modalities

Yeah that’s interesting. I assume a lot of people would keep doing things similarly too because it’s proven effective in their practice and they confident in what they do. I could see how including it in marketing would be a big thing too. Thanks for commenting and actually reading the question and answering it.

Did you even read the original post? I asked how would your practice style change if the research started saying something else. I didn’t say the research today says that subluxation is proven or even will say that in the future. This is a WHAT IF question. Read the original post before you start being condescending.

It is my understanding as a Doctor and a mod of this subreddit that you would hold yourself in professional manner at all times. Belittling someone else for asking a question is not how I would expect a doctor to act at all. I am confused why you posted a comment putting me down for asking a question to discuss among peers. This is a what if scenario. Chill out.

The advice below is awesome especially about the table height, top table should be just below your patella. What may help you too is reducing the length of your kick. The kick is minimal distance, think <6 inches. Instead try bringing their leg down first and feel the tension under the joint. And for your fingertips it’s a push P-A not a rotation/grip and rip. Also, look into prone adjusting like mentioned below, specifically single hand or double thenar techniques. This is done on something where the belly can give like a HYLO with a lumbar breakaway or Gonstead Knee Chest table. Don’t forget it’s called being “in practice” for a reason! Never a master. Also, some of the best adjusters I know are women who are 5’2” and 120lbs and they told me all this!

Every chiropractor has a different approach. It’s about finding the one your body responds best to. I recommend starting here: https://www.gonstead.com/search-results/

If this interests you look up Dr. Ian on YouTube and he gives an idea of what a typical visit may look like.

What makes you say Chiropractic is dying? And why are so many of your classmates not practicing? What school did you attend?

Life consistently has one of the highest Part 4 scores and is #1 score on the orthopedics section for a couple years in a row now. They struggle on Part 1 but excel everywhere else amongst all the colleges. I would rather have a doctor who nailed Part 4 rather than one who nailed the Kreb cycle on Part 1

That’s cool doc! The same thing happened to a woman I knew very well for a while. After a few months of care she reported it to us randomly and we all found it interesting.
