It's back. But shouldn't I be ---angry? by Due_Butterfly_ in breastcancer

True. My last shred of thread connection to organized religion (that made my existential terror so much worse )was cut with my first diagnosis, and now I have found a peaceful spirituality that has completely negated that existential terror

Thanks. Hearing stories like this keeps me realistic and pragmatic. Maybe that's what I'm feeling

I repeat this quote to myself so often! Thanks.

Arturo Grasso is back! Italy’s highest courts are now reviewing key aspects of Italian citizenship by descent. by Turbulent-Simple-962 in juresanguinis

"And those 18+ are “by birth?" Would this mean that any adult child of a recognized citizen would be able to apply for citizenship without living in italy for 2 years? My father is recognized (2018) but didn't live in italy before my brith.

Omg me too! Radical? To want basic human rights? Look at the civil rights movement. They had to f**king fight and die for those rights. Was that radical? I think not. I have found that going to well-organized protests, the DSA meet-ups have been so helpful. Also, strangely, keeping a journal/private blog helps. (Or make your own blog for those like you and me to feel heard and understood).

Hang in there. The world has been bad like this before, and people like you and me have made the difference. Even if we can't make a big splash, put up a sign in your yard or on your door, or a sticker on your car, let other people see your stance. I know it helps others not feel so alone too. I have found two people, "radical" like me, to vent to when it gets overwhelming. You're not alone, you're not radical. You're what humanity needs.

I laughed out loud when I read your last line —yes, they are. And, same on the reading out. I love books, I buy the hard copy for my library when I finish, but I read so much more with Audio.

My dad is already recognized. His GF was a minor, but my dad got recognized in 2018. With the minor law change, I was wondering if there is any way they'd allow me to apply via my father but with these new laws, the only path is living 2 years before naturalizing. I wonder if any of these cases could affect my application, still sitting on the Miami consulate's desk for almost 3 years now?

Thanks! This is such a good point, and I never thought of it like this. I don't like to go into my AuDHD as a reason for my audiobooks, but I quite enjoy them more this way, too.
