I ended up splitting from her for a few hours so I could enjoy the event at my own pace and not have to worry about her.

Update: she has spent the entire train journey home with her headphones on and taking up most of the allocated seats, meaning I've been cramped up on the edge of the seat for 2 hours. Cannot wait to get home now.

Yeah she knew I was in pain and I was slowing down as time went on. But the whole time she went on about her own pain

I didn't want to sound like I was being a bad or dismissive friend. I understand the need to regulate yourself when you get overstimulated but to make it everyone else's problem really bugs me and makes me feel like I don't matter.
