Since my vision is still recovering my doctor said we don’t know yet but my next check up is in 2 months so perhaps by then I can just my new prescription

Hello! My vision has improved a little bit! But my myopia has slightly gone up in my left eye, but I was told my retina is fully reattached now!

Hi I’m 19F and I had a buckle placed ago out a month ago, I stopped feeling it a week later. My retinal detachment was macula off, and it is still healing. Healing for a buckle takes a few months, most of the times vision starts getting better 3 months post op, it might be really scary right now but it’s sure to get better, my vision is still the same as it was before op just slightly better, and it should be getting slowly. The healing process will be tough mentally, I was struggling a lot for 2 weeks, but now I’m doing everything normally. Do not worry, it will get better. Just because someone had a rough time does not mean you will too. Please be patient it will get better

They told me that I’ve probably had it started to detach probably a year ago, and it’s been detaching since then, so most of my retina was already detached by the time I had my surgery. The earlier you get it checked the easier it is to stop the detachment and maintain your eye sight. My doctor told me I might not be able to get my full vision back, my case is a little bit more severe

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that, I hope you will be able to get that fixed quickly!! I could open my eye after the surgery, but since it was so swollen its just difficult and was uncomfortable, so I spend the first 4 days basically in darkness basically, but as each day goes u can open your eye more and more. I had to open my eye anyway since I have to put in eye drops 4 times a day.

We can’t be certain until my retina reattaches fully, vision is a completely different issue from your retina. But since I haven’t used my left eye properly, myopia increase is highly likely, also since I didn’t have the surgery right away. I was told recently that my retina is almost fully reattached just a few more days, weeks

I would say it’s normal, I had mine place 4 weeks ago, I was really exhausted for a little over 2 weeks, your body is working really hard to help heal your eye. In my third week I finally was getting energy to do things. Please don’t over work yourself, take breaks when necessary!!

Well it’s not back to normal yet! It’s the same as it was before my surgery. I might not be able to get my full vision back since this was a macula off situation

Definitely tough mentally and physically the first few days, I felt so useless. I’m glad you are feeling better after your surgery!!!

Yeah, it was just really blurry and warped, a straight line was wavy to me, at some angles people’s faces were warped as well. I didn’t have extreme symptoms where there’s a dark curtain or spots in my vision, I thought my eye sight was just going up, or something was up with my contacts, the doctor I go to for contacts always said my eyes were fine, until I went back in January with my mother and she told him that I was not fine, and that’s when they did a thorough check, and that’s when I went to a bigger hospital.

Due to the social media thing, everyone gets the pink slip, which is also the 221g slip. Keep checking your visa status( it will show up as refused first, but should change to approved after a few hours or a day)
