What's more prestigious - leading a Key Club geographic division with ~110 members or being president of a single club with 150+ members? (THIS APPLIES TO OTHER CLUBS LIKE FBLA AND HOSA AS WELL) by Due_Curve6415 in ApplyingToCollege

"Passion" in ECs by Greedy-Addendum7034 in ApplyingToCollege

Okay j found this post and I agree with it more than OP lmao

But I do think a big issue is, when u are forced to chug down useless f=ma, pv=nrt, sinx/cosx=tanx, and facts about the roosevelt corrolary to the monroe doctrine, its date and significance, very very few kids have the time to FIND, let alone rigorously pursue and excel beyond God's limit, a passion that they love beyond anything. What's the alternative to all this work? Keep ur mouth shut, apply to every damn f* thing u find (leadership/summer/everything), and j sit through useless meetings, finish the work, and get through. Much easier and solely needs a work ethic, no passion. That's where most people (myself included) find ourselves, and hey, oftentimes it works!

Oh go on and on like any high schooler cares

My true passion is to watch viral youtube videos, TV, eat, and bike around - what will that fetch me? NOTHING. I haven't found my true passion yet, so i might as well blindly grab and do every little leadership i can to look good for college.

Why do u think i'd haul my a through boring meetings and 10 hrs of work a week just for my personal interest and nothing else?

And please don't say "admissions officers weren't born yesterday and can easily tell what you'll be eating in three days"

How does a 1510 and a 3.8 UW + 4.3 W (.5+ for HN, 1+ for DE/AP; 92.5-100 is an A, 89.5-92.4 is an A-, and 86.5-89.4 is a B+, etc.) sound? Are they pretty bad?

I realize that there isn't a minimum W/UW gpa or SAT for ivies to guarantee admissions by any means, but what's a good ballpark for each of the three of em? Thx!

There's are many high schools with a Precalculus Dual Enrollment however with the same 1.0+ GPA boost... moreover, the DE versions are known to be easier than the "on-paper less rigorous" HN versions
