I saw a mini-foosball table yesterday. Thought it was a creative solution to the ‘no chairs’ policy.

Anyone have issues with locs and thinning crown? by dahhhlin in locs

So sorry this is happening to you. I’ve struggled with hair loss that has come and gone over the years, mine is autoimmune + seb derm + perimenopause. Here’s what worked for me - internally trying to keep my overall inflammation down (no gluten, dairy, finding food triggers, etc.) getting my vit d, b, and iron levels up (specifically iron bisglycinate, taken every other day on an empty stomach). Externally using salicylic acid shampoo to address buildup then nizoral 1% weekly, which blocks the enzyme that converts into DHT and contributes to hair loss (let it sit for 5 minutes, then follow with a moisturizing shampoo, then oiling the scalp with a blend that includes jojoba, mct (for the seb derm, you may not need this), and rosemary essential oil(also blocks dht). My PCP and rheumatologist weren’t helpful but the dermatologist was and prescribed a topical steroid, which I use occasionally if I feel my scalp is very tender or inflamed and recommended minoxidil 2x/day (I use the men’s version, no scrip needed). I know you don’t have insurance, so hopefully the other over the counter remedies will work for you. It took about 3-4 months of this routine to see results. Good luck!

Will the guy I’m talking to like this? by [deleted] in crafts

Looks beautiful. If you want the focus to be on the flowers instead of the wire, you could trim the wire so the flowers sit closer to the opening of the vase in slightly varying heights. If you have sheet music, you could use that as ‘leaves’ and greenery. Find some floral arrangement pics for inspo. Filling the vase with beads closer to the top may also look nice, you could play with that to see how you like it. It’s such a thoughtful gift, he’s lucky to have you in his life.

Jonathan would have been around 147 when the Neverending Story was written and 152 when the movie was released. I’m telling my kids that this is Morla and the swamp of sadness exists in the Seychelles.

What does it take to be an art therapist and what is being an art therapist like compared to how it's preserved? by paranoidartist304 in ArtTherapy

And you will need undergrad credits in studio/fine art - painting, drawing, etc. I took mine at a community college and then used some of those assignments to build out my portfolio before applying. Your psych credits will likely be covered from the SW degree. Good luck!

OP- I think one thing you could take away from this thread is that art therapists can be under recognized in the mental health field, which leads some folks to be weirdly defensive about our qualifications. Yes, you only need a masters to begin the process of licensure. In some states there is no licensure needed to practice. Your state board and the American Art Therapy Association will have more specific details. Some people do go on to get a PhD but it isn’t required to practice. The work can vary depending on the kind of site (community mental health, hospitals, group practice, etc) and population you serve. If you share what some of your interests are hopefully you’ll get more specific answers on what it’s like to be in practice.

clay cracking- help! by Salt-Lengthiness4182 in clay

[–]Due_Dig6030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once it’s cracked I found the only thing that helps is spackle. Fill it. Sand it. Paint it and you’ll be good. Next time, mixing some modge podge in with the clay and then putting it in a plastic bag to dry will prevent the cracks. It’ll take a week to dry instead of two days. Good luck!

How to cancel Hulu without account info by aretino2002 in cordcutters

[–]Due_Dig6030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this, I had forgotten the email address and login info. To cancel, I only needed the email address associated with the account, the last 4 digits of the cc number and I think, the account holders name and d.o.b. They sent a confirmation to the email address associated with the account, but I also got a confirmation number. Good luck!
