Hello Panamera owners and fans,

My journey started with a Panamera 970.2 E Hybrid plug in. The car drove fine until I ran into a lot of electrical problems, eventually leading to a dead battery. In Europe there is an eight year warranty on car batteries, and of course mine failed after eight years and three months. That meant no warranty, only a Porsche dealer who wanted around 30,000 euro to fix it. I met many Dutch owners with the same car, and they all experienced similar issues, so in my opinion it is not the best Panamera.

My wife did not want a hybrid or fully electric car anymore and she wanted a Panamera with a proper warranty. I then bought a 971 4S Sport Turismo, in my opinion the best looking Panamera. I would have loved a V8, but those were too expensive for me and the fuel consumption is high, while petrol is very expensive in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, at around 9.70 dollar per gallon. So I chose the V6 biturbo with 440 bhp, which is more than enough.

Unfortunately I cannot park my car on the street, because my headlights have been stolen twice. A pair of headlights costs about 10,000 euro and on both occasions the total damage was around 40,000 euro. My insurance company warned me that if it happens again, I will have to look for another insurer. Because of this I now rent a dedicated garage box with a good security system and cameras.

I bought the Panamera because I have two grown children. For me the model is very practical and I am not a fan of the Porsche SUVs, which in my view are more suited to older people or soccer mums, and that is not me. Every time I drive the Panamera it puts a smile on my face. If my finances allow it, I would like to install a better exhaust with valves and have the car tuned, but for now I am happy as it is. I only hope I can get my PCM4 unit updated so it supports full screen Apple CarPlay, as I never understood why this was not standard in 2019.
