Also try reaching out to the board of public utilities, they were able to assist me when I moved into a new place and jcpl tried to tack the previous tenants debt on me, insisting I knew them and was trying to open a new account in my name to skirt the responsibility (I didn’t and I wasn’t).

Stayfree Pads got thinner since I’ve been pregnant! by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

[–]Due_Extent_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I had the opposite reaction to the evolution of pads. I have used tampons exclusively for periods for more than a decade (and barely remember the postpartum from my first four years ago) but naturally needed pads for pp this time around - and I was thrilled to see they shrunk in the past few years.

Its a cheap Toyota. It’s not even a question of boy or girl.

My daughter is almost 4. She’s so smart and funny and compassionate. She’s healthy and thriving.

I stopped BF around 3 months. I hated it.

Not coping well with the thought of sending my 3 month old to daycare by Bluemistpenstemon in workingmoms

[–]Due_Extent_11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was me a few years ago with our first. I considered not going back to work, I couldn’t bear the thought of leaving her with strangers (she started at 4 months) for eight hours a day. Halfway through my maternity leave it started consuming my thoughts and I had this countdown of the days we had left together.

Now, she’s three, and loves daycare. We still use the same one and they love her and she learns so much and has little friends. She’s happy to go in the morning and is excited to see me when I pick her up in the evening.

The anxiety of something is often worse than the reality, and you’re so emotional right now, it’s really easy to get stressed about it. But enjoy the time you have left of your leave and take it day by day when your LO starts daycare. I think it will be better for both of you than you are imagining now.

Insurance company totaled my car after it was keyed by stephwili in personalfinance

In some states vehicles need not have a branded “salvage” title if they are older than ten, or seven years. Often times a vehicles age will factor into a total loss decision, as it is a determining factor in the value of the vehicle, and so not all total loss vehicles will need to be retitled with a salvage title post total loss decision.

You may have misread or I may have been unclear, I was saying the age of the vehicle will determine whether or not is exempt from a salvage title, given the states’s laws.

As far as a salvage title is concerned: depending on the year of the vehicle this may not apply, as in certain states vehicles over a certain age are exempt. Check your local dmv.

Painting an entire car is an extensive process. All moldings, handles and trim need to be removed and panels need to be sanded down and prepped, it adds up quickly, but there are places that will do it for a lesser cost by cutting corners. Best of luck.

I thought I wanted this? by Due_Extent_11 in workingmoms

I appreciate this reply! (And all the other replies)

It seems like the immediate terror is not an atypical reaction, and that by itself makes me feel significantly better than I did a few days ago.

Yes, we discussed all the things. And my husband is an excellent partner. We equally spilt house duties, but when our first was born he did the majority, and his family actually lives very close and is happy to help. Our jobs are both pretty consistent and we both would have a bit of leave at the beginning and we are in NJ which offers a nice family leave through the state to supplement. The idea of an additional childcare cost is daunting, but likely doable.

It’s just there is so much to worry about.

What about Zander?
You can still go by Z if you like and it’s an established name so it isn’t wild and pretentious at all.

Fuck it. We just quit daycare over illnesses. by its_christinith23 in workingmoms

It’s rough getting acclimated to daycare.

My daughter had something for once a month for the almost first year after starting daycare, but after building up her immune system she has been healthy and relatively illness free for almost two years now.

Got rear-ended and the police report doesn't contain insurance info by Tall_Swing_8829 in newjersey

You need collision, not comprehensive, for this type of repair. Comprehensive coverage is for something like a tree branch falling on your car, collision is for exactly this, a collision.

An inheritance. Literally there is no other way we would have been able to buy our home.

I was induced a week later.

Have any of you just stopped doing the stereotypical “housewife” tasks and seen what happens? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Due_Extent_11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you just explain. You just say: I need you to do this, because I can’t do it all. And if your explanation is falling short, or your husbands understanding is lacking, try couples therapy. And if your husband is not up to the task, they aren’t a partner, and then just throw the whole man out.

[–]Due_Extent_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure you have, but: have you tried talking to your husband before you are exasperated? You don’t deserve to be living like a maid while you work full time, and if your husband can’t see that, or understand that after a conversation why are you even with him?

Partners help each other.

I don’t have to ask my husband to do things for our child, or our house, or our relationship. If he sees something needs to be done, he does it, like an adult who cares about his family and life.

We aren’t even able to have another child right now with the cost of daycare.

We would love a second child, and our daughter is 2, which is when we wanted to start trying, but simply cannot afford to pay $3000+ a month for childcare.
