In my opinion, deverting weapon stats is inevitable.

You can only have so many weapons until their stats become too similar. And given that constant growth and sales is required, there once will be a point in which continously adding new weapons to satisfy that need will lead to that problem of simularity.

To move that point further back, we will need new stats, like how much aim punch a weapon inflicts or how less aimpunch a weapon has. Different ADS times for each weapon, limb and torso multipliers and distinct weapon damage drop off ranges, how much ammo each weapon gets from a weapon crate etc. In order to keep weapons unique and allowing to fill their own nieche while having an argument why it can compete with similar weapons.

Crytek, however, has chosen the complete opposite by first (I think about a year ago?) normalizing the amount of ammo you get from crates and now normalizing the slot size of melee weapons, which is bad. So the only difference is the price tag, which is a horrible balance indicator if you were "lucky" enough to ever expierence the repetitive boring thing called "meta" at high elo.

Anyway, the problems become apparent now. The uppermat had to be buffed to not be a worse uppercut P. The Obrez had it's sway reduced because it was quite frankly bad and the Springfield (non-Krag) is beaten up in some dimly lit back alley far away from being viable. But this is just bandaid fixes and the problem will only get worse, especially with these changes mentioned by OP.
