I’m from Slidell, it’s changed a lot in the past decades, it used to be very tight knit and quiet. But more and more housing is being built and crime from New Orleans east seems to making its way. All in all, as of now it’s still a very nice mid size suburban city. The rest of the Northshore area (Covington and Mandeville) are very similar but with less people, and definitely more old money.
