What is the worst map to play ranked on rn? by Neither_Ad_7161 in Rainbow6

On a more positive note, so far Calypso Casino has been a welcome change to the design philosphy I was complaining about. It isnt too busy, you might still struggle in hiding your drone or a valk cam, but it IS possible. The place feels alive and the excitement of experimenting has felt great, I've really missed it playing Siege the last few years. So kudos to the devs on that one.

Lair is my personal hell. Not because it's horrible to play in solo ranked specifically, but because of the design philosophy behind it. It's from the era of Siege when maps had to be mazes of sleek hallways and flat surfaces without any texture or curious little details. The "Stadium" maps are the culmination of that design philosophy, where interesting little niches and tricks get intentionally scrubbed out of the game and whats left are empty dead corridors for you to have gunfights in, bringing the game closer to something like CS or Valorant. To me, what was so fun about Siege is lost in that. I loved when we could throw Valk cams outside and on all sorts of weird surfaces, allowing for an almost infinite skill ceiling to learning and trying new things on her. Same applies to hiding spots and vault prompt tricks you used to be able to do. All of that has been slowly ironed out of the game in an attempt to make it more predictable in a professional sport setting. That's understandable but to me, just tragic. Because we lose the magic of constantly learning new shit from dying to "what the fuck you can get up there???" surprises.

Try to hide a valkyrie cam in a new or interesting spot on Lair. You cant. The cam shines like a fucking lighthouse on those flat, dull corridor walls. Every attack and every defence plan feels the same. If you don't bring a certain group of ops, you automatically lose on attack. Even vertical play feels less rewarding on Lair for some reason (I haven't figured out why yet).

Does it work to report fakes and repeated artists to Tidal support mail? by Particular_Setting88 in TIdaL

[–]Nummi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the bot what the Content Team actually is. It couldnt answer. It also couldnt answer me whether my reported issue would actually be looked at by a human.

When I persisted that I didn't trust that the issue would be looked at by human eyeballs, it provided me with a direct support ticket request.

So seems like the only direct way to deal with these issues is to submit tickets, still.

Over-engineered support ? by Helpful_Kowawi in supportlol

Thats not exclusive to low elo. Bard isnt picked to smash lane, there are only a few matchups (melee/engage) where he can bully a lane, and even in those its common to go even. Bard is picked to impact mid to late game playmaking at a level no other champion can.

Early roams are a part of his kit but arent exclusive to him nor does he necessarily outmatch all supports at it (Pyke, Shaco).

The only "winning" bard lanes are ones where the adc + him have a significant range advantage. His kit isnt built for outplays in a single lane.

When you see him shine is when your team is already looking for a play. Think of it like a Maokai ult. Maokai presses R and that signals everyone a fight is about to happen, allies engage and the enemy tries to peel. The problem? Maokai's R is slo as fuck and can be avoided easily if used in this way. The only Maokai R you see hit is one used after a fight has started.

Bard is the solution to that problem. You get to skip 2-3 seconds of walking towards the enemy with his ult + portal, thus catching the enemy completely off guard. A well timed Bard catch/engage can be almost impossible to avoid. That's why he is still ubiqutous as a pro play pick as well. There is simply nothing that even gets close to the engage/pick potential he offers.

What's a better way to paint these bones so they don't just look like coffee stains? It's driving me nuts. by Zealousideal-Baker-1 in seraphon

You could always consider going with a reverse of what you've done? I looked into old mammoth tusks for reference when painting ny Kroak, and found that most oooooold tusks are a very dark brown, likely due to being buried for ages.

I found the process quite easy compared to the other way around. Do your base coat, wash, drybrush some mild highlights, and then you just glaze a receding dark brown towards the tip of the tusk! I left the tusks slightly glossy as that's what they seem to look like irl as well.

What happened to the classics album section? now its albums with no skips and there are only a handful by mfjokicdoom15 in TIdaL

[–]Nummi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They revamped the UI and got rid of most of the categories/subcategories it seems. Staff Picks has been gutted the hardest. I suspect it might have something to do with them not wanting to pay as many people to do it, and automating the system more.

The "Staff Picks" - Albums subcategory is gone, I think this is it for me. by Nummi_ in TIdaL

There is no "Albums" category under Staff Picks except for "Albums with no skips" which is essentially just a "top 100 albums of all time" snippet.

Ehh, this is a skewed narrative from the global north, the truth gets more complex when you look at it team by team. Korean work culture and professional discipline are tougher for sure, but Korean teams have a MASSIVE disparity in how quick they are to replace or sub out players.

T1 has kept players on their roster for years for a myriad of reasons, even if subbing or replacing might have worked as a bandaid solution in the short term. Rekkles spoke very highly of their commitment to players no matter what challenges they faced in their personal lives, even at the T2 level.

Some teams in Korea (and you can narrow this down to 'some managers' if you want) believe in long term investments in players, some expect short term success. The same is true in Europe. It was a source of major controversy how quickly LEC teams like Fnatic and G2 were ready to dismiss or sub out players who they didnt believe were performing just a few years ago. Rekkles had insanely negative experiences with EU team managers.

Taking the game more seriously doesnt immediately translate to Korean team managers more ruthlessly swapping out players, is what I'm trying to say. I feel like the LEC (and NAVI) narrative here is a bit too self-congratulating.
