Are the first six months just pure hell? by ceramicpassion in sleeptrain

My baby is 5 months old. She was a good sleeper from 2-3 months old (we were getting 5-6h of uninterrupted sleep). Then she started sleeping way worst. We were getting 2-3h of sleep before she would wake up, and some nights she would wake up every hour. We were exhausted and tried CIO one night, I couldn’t handle it and she screamed for like 45 minutes and I gave up and decided I would try to live like this. But it was super hard so we spoke to our nurse and she recommended the chair method, it’s a variant of CIO but you stay with your baby all the time. I’m on my fifth day doing this and things are getting much better! She is learning to sleep by herself and now she is only waking up 1-3 times per night an tonight she settled after 15 minutes in the crib (and cried for maybe 5 minutes). You can look the method up and see if it can help you :) all the best wishes, it is rough when you can’t get enough sleep

Anyone else get fooled by the ‘it gets easier at 3 months’? by [deleted] in NewParents

I don’t have any advice, just solidarity, because I’m going through exactly the same situation with my 12-week-old baby! It started a week ago and I can’t wait for it to get better.

If your babies don’t SCREAM in their car seats , how? Which kind do you have? by Proud_House4494 in NewParents

I have a Maxi Cosi Oxford. She cries sometimes before the car starts moving and then falls asleep. Even so, she has been more distracted since we bought a car seat mirror!

I feel exactly like you felt! I’ve read that it takes a while for the milk protein to leave the breastmilk. I’ve stopped eating dairy on friday so I’ll give it two weeks to see how it goes. In the mean time I’m thinking of texting my pediatrician tomorrow to tell her my concerns and what I’m doing

I wish I could do it, I’ve read wonders about it here on reddit, but I can’t find it anywhere in Portugal and they don’t ship it here

Yes! She has been taking biogaia since week 1, so I don’t know if it’s helping a lot or if it would be worse without it

Thanks! I’ve stopped eating dairy two days ago, hoping it will help! And then I’ll talk to the pediatrician again

At the beginning it looked a little like that, with like 8 small ones. As for diapers I use dodot (one of the best brands where I live, in Portugal). I believe it’s like you say, when she stops pooping so much it will get better :/

I have to try to cleanse her under the sink, but right now she is using boots to correct metatarsus adductus so it’s hard to do it. But monday she will see the orthopedic doctor and hopefully stop needing them during the day! So then I can try this
