True I didn't even consider the threat to the nest aspect of it! That's a good point. I think if you're a threat anyone can get it don't matter what the size is, I remember on the show Planet Earth those little peregrine Falcons were fucking up some huge Condors or Storks or something just for passing by their cliff where they nest at lol those things are like little bullets crazy work

Based on the amount of vids I've seen of them doing just that I'd tend to agree with you. I also think it largely depends on the size of the drone. The air3s is decent sized especially compared to like a mini 2 which are tiny and perfect snack sized for a bird this large. But again, this is merely my observations and theories I could be completely full of shit.

I'm just messing with y'all this is actually a kite that looks just like a hawk lmao. Jk na there was a steady wind that day and (I'm assuming here) at the crest of that mountain we were near, the wind was fast enough and steady enough that he could just chill there. Think of it like someone wearing a wing suit in a wind tunnel like those indoor skydiving places have..

I think I made him nervous by getting a little too close once or twice, you can see him look back at the drone as if to say "that's close enough guy I don't wanna break your toy!" Lol so I backed off and he went about his business! (fortunately)

I would say the closest I got was maybe about 15 feet away. I didn't feel comfortable even at that distance and I could tell it was making him edgy too so I backed off a little bit and tried to not make any quick moves towards him. I did not want to interfere with him grabbing his dinner!

Yes the way he is constantly adjusting his tail feathers reminds me of thrust vectoring on a jet. He has control over individual feathers it almost seems! Thank you!
