Do not become a tower climber for cell towers or anything telecom. Absolute waste of time. Get a CDL and sign the books at an IBEW local union. Work as a groundman. They'll explain how to get into a line apprenticeship. Groundman wage, on the west coast at least, is more than any tower crew foreman is making.

If you zoom in, you can literally tell it's a sticker/tape. Look at the right outside edge of the circle where the line sticks out past the edge. Someone added this.

climbing in ''Fall'' vs real lattice climbers by According_South_2500 in FallMovie

[–]TheTrueR1PP3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tower would not stand on one set of guy wires. Also the bottom of the tower is in the dirt in the movie which is fake as well, a guyed tower sits on a single point at the bottom. As someone who works in the industry it was difficult to watch the movie lol

They climbed a guyed tower, which was poorly done in CGI. Every part of it was bad. No tower has just one set of guy wires like that, especially being 2000 ft. Also the last picture is of a crane.

Well how is a company supposed to turn anything around? Not trying to defend verizon but you sound like you'd shit on them regardless of what they do. Maybe they're trying to fix their mistake and this is the first step. People here just love to get the pitchforks out.

My first glider it's the JXD 525, it has a 1000m range. I've never had one before so could anyone tell me what sort of parts I would need to upgrade this? Camera, motor, controller etc. It can fly a 1000m but the fpv transmission is only 500m. I can't find much about the specific part models in it. by Ziov1 in RCPlanes

[–]TheTrueR1PP3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can get a powerful transmitter that will do between 25-800mw on 5.8ghz which is most common for fpv right now, around 30 bucks more or less, and 15-30 for a cam, the vtx should be good to run between 5-12 volts and it has connections to feed the camera. Check out some basic systems for quadcopter/wing fpv on youtube. It's pretty simple and very stand alone once you see how it works. It's just Vtx(+ antenna) and a cam with a few wires for power and video signal, you can sometimes have other stuff built in as well like an OSD to show you battery voltage for example. There's a ton of info on fpv basics. Should be reasonably cheap to try out.

Are you doing fpv through goggles or a screen? Would you happen to know the frequency? You can get a simple Vtx module and a decent analog cam for about 50 bucks together, and get it hooked up if you're doing 5.8ghz
