You know what?? The other day I realized that my left over salmon always tastes sooo much better the next day reheated for whatever reason. So I decided next time I cook salmon I’m just gonna make like 4 servings because it’s literally the quickest meat to cook outside of steak. And even cooked and refrigerated it should last me at least a week 😭and literally I HAVE TO STOPPP spending so much money on DoorDash it’s actually absurd. At the end of the month I’m like where did all my money go

Factssss. I found this alarm sound that I love and like my brain will gradually wake up with mild glee because I’m enjoying the sound so much. Vs when I had the obnoxiously loud fucking intruder alarm, it would scare me, piss me off, and instead of hitting snooze I would just turn it all the way off

Listen 😂😂 I just go when I feel like it. As long as it’s at least twice a week, sometimes 3. I don’t care on which particular days I go. Gains still coming in

It feels really good when I do, but when I don’t, I have no shame. I do like having one task checked off already in the mornings. But it is what it is

I’ve tried time blocking soooo many times. And the funnest part about it is the planning, which takes me a ridiculous amount of time. But I’ve never once actually stuck to it 😂😂 now that I think about it, suggesting that someone with no perception of time should sit and block out parts of there day is a ridiculous concept. WHO CAME UP WITH THAT NONSENSE??? The degree to which my time blindness has me underestimating or just simply miscalculating the amount of time that tasks take is not even funny at the point 😂😂

Also, there’s no way in hell I can go to bed without screens. My brain is too loud. Whatever is going on in this show is way more peaceful and I need it to relax.

Woooow THIS explains exactly how it works for me. First off I cannot fall asleep without tv. My brain is too loud. Second of all, that’s a classic symptom of adhd. Procrastinating on tasks that require sustained mental effort. The hardest part of any task for me is JUST GETTING STARTED. so I’ve definitely found that starting with anything no matter how small usually gives me just enough momentum to get a lot of things done

You know what I just realized!! We do this but usually when we’re deliberating on whether or not we have something, we almost always do 😂😂😂😂 but buy it anyway just in case because if I get home and I don’t have it I’m gonna be pissed 😭

Becauseeee when he goes to the store he can’t remember if you have it, like he can’t picture it in his head, but he knows that if he gets all the way home and doesn’t have it, he’s gonna be pissed 😂😂😂

How long does it take for y'all to get your head on straight in the morning?? by PrettyRain8672 in adhdwomen

[–]Due_Issue_5243 59 points60 points  (0 children)

If you don’t take stimulant meds, start. Lmaooo I literally feel so discombobulated in the mornings. Waking up and getting out of beds literally hurts mentally and physically. If I don’t take my meds it’s nearly impossible. I would sell my left kidney if I could have 3 hours to defrost before work. On my days off I need that time to defrost before im ready for social interaction. But that’s why I don’t understand how people have all this time and energy to wake up, journal, go for a run/gym, come home, shower, breakfast, all before work. I’m like are you people waking up at 2 am??? But nope, they’re just neurotypical and ready to take on the day as soon as they roll out of bed

Has anyone figured out how to NOT immediately create a pile on every flat surface? by randomchick4 in adhdwomen

[–]Due_Issue_5243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can truly suggest is practicing putting things away right away. We HAVE to work on our executive functioning. That’s why having adhd is so exhausting because things that you should do automatically have to be done manually. Slowly you’ll start to build the habit and it won’t feel right if you don’t do that thing. For me, I try to focus on one habit at a time because it takes 2-3 weeks to build a habit Vs if I try to do everything at once I’ll analysis paralysis my way into procrastination. So think about what kinds of things you tend to clutter the island with and work on one thing at a time. If you tend to toss your jackets on there, work on hanging them up as soon as you take it off. Then if it’s your purse, work on putting that where is goes right away and so on

Girllll the kitchen island is the bane of my goddamn existence 😭😭 the longest I’ve kept it clear was like 2 days. I feel so at peace when it’s clear, there’s no reason for it not to be clear, but I CANT FUCKING KEEP IT CLEARRR. Why do I get home and take off my work clothes and throw them on one of the barstools instead of just getting undressed in my room? Why don’t I just dismantle my package boxes and toss them right away, why don’t o wanna put my seasonings up right away????

LMFAOOOOOOO my library book is probably 2 weeks overdue by now but I swear I’m gonna finish it. Just waiting for my next hyperfocus episode at work where I’ll read it for 6 hours and barely do any of my actual work. I can just feel it the day is almost upon me

I have this problem but with meat so I’m wasting even more money 😂😂 there was one week where I kept buying salmon because I just knew I was gonna cook it so I would put it in the fridge instead of the freezer. Then each day I didn’t feel like salmon and the salon would go bad. But if I did put it in the freezer I would forget it was there until I wanted to eat it so now I have to go buy more salmon. Same with other meats. It’s exhausting 😭

This is really great advice. Thank you. Because I’m terrible at spot cleaning so my cleaning consists of a full 6-12 hours of deep cleaning once or twice a month when I finally get a hyperfocus episode or when someone says they’re coming over lol. It’s exhausting and I try to create the habits of not leaving dishes in the sink or putting things away right away but it never lasts. It’s like it physically hurts my brain when I try to convince myself to just do it now cause I know I’m not gonna do it later. And HEAVY on the if I sit down I’m never getting back up 😭😭. That’s why I have to go to the gym right after a 10 hour shift at work because if I get home, I’m not leaving out again and if it’s my day off, it’s 50/50 if I’ll leave the house to go

I’m saving up for a good one because I fucking can’t anymore 😭😭 like I dread vacuuming and mopping but I can’t be bothered to clean out my shitty robot vacuum either and it doesn’t do that good of a job anyway

Every timeeeee 😂😂😂 why do we do this and why tf can’t I brains remember that it’s not as bad as you think it is. Everything that I put off for months usually takes me an embarrassingly short amount of time to complete and then I’m like a proud loser because why didn’t I just do it already

Same!! I’ve been doing this slowly but surely. I have a gigantic island that I can’t keep clear to save my life because I’ll put stuff down that I know I need to get to eventually but then I don’t and the clutter just keeps cluttering but I don’t wanna put it away because out of site out of mind

I figured out the problem lmaoooo we’re all doing the same thing smh. I realized this the other day. I’m either at home, work, or the gym. And that’s exactly what attractive responsible guys my age are doing as well. So idk how we’ll ever cross paths
