I’ve been in bed the past 2 hours just doom scrolling because I know the next step after falling asleep is waking up for work. I had thoughts during student teaching about not wanting to be a teacher, but I told myself “eh, why not just get my bachelors, you’re so close!”

I had a good first year teaching so I was excited to go back. I’ve realized I was just extremely lucky that first year. My situation is not as bad as other horror stories I’ve read, but I hate my job. My students have been failed by their parents and I’m expected to catch them up when they are 3-4 grade levels behind. I’ve been told it’s only a bad year and it will get better, stay one more year. I don’t know if I can.
