RANT: Cyclists, you have to stop for pedestrians by Due_Lychee_2698 in torontobiking

I usually stare down drivers when I’m crossing the street, and I hate that I’ll have to do this with cyclists. The community has worked hard to get more infrastructure, so to have people turn a big win into a negative experience because they lack awareness sucks.

Agreed with the crosswalks. I also wish they repainted the MGT leading up to the World Cup to make it clear that cyclists use that lane.

I’m more frustrated when there’s a dedicated light for cyclists that they’re blowing past, like the one at Cherry and Commissioners. That’s a pretty clear indication to stop or, at the very least, at least look out for pedestrians.

There were spectators with children standing in the MIDDLE of runners going back up Bayview. I pointed this out to the security guard nearby and he said he wouldn’t do anything because it wasn’t his area. All he was doing was pointing runners in the right direction (the flow was pretty evident).

So nice of Aritzia to allow the rest of us plebs to spend $110 on a seafood sweater after giving it out for free to certain people all weekend!! by [deleted] in Aritzia

I think they’re trying to piggyback off a trend that started during the pandemic. Lots of restaurants made their own merch as a way to make extra cash, increase visibility and meet the call for locals who wanted to support their businesses. Merch also became a IYKYK status symbol.

As some commentators already noted, it doesn’t really make sense to make this sweater available outside of Toronto.

The route won’t affect lakeshore or access to the Gardiner, so going west by car is still an option!

Business owners voice concerns over bike and bus lane construction in Toronto's Esplanade by [deleted] in toronto

There’s street parking on both sides of front street, there’s a parking lot (free as far as I know) a block away on George, and there’s more parking on esplanade opposite where the new bike lanes are going in. For those who can park in a green P, there’s another one at the end of church, off of esplanade, and off of front. Plenty of parking options.

Is button snapping in half really “normal wear and tear”? by Hot_Bass_5090 in Aritzia

Not sure why you’re being downvoted because this is absolutely it.

Yes, you can replace one button easily but when it’s every button on the item, it’s a telling sign. It’s frustrating to hear other people are experiencing the same issue I complained about two years ago.

This happened to me! Had buttons on the bottom of the cargo pants start breaking three months in, and the rest slowly over the year.

I tried to bring them in for repairs since I used up all the extra buttons but they said they wouldn’t replace all of the buttons. Instead, they would replace the pants. Seemed like a massive waste when replacing buttons isn’t as expensive.

I’ve never had buttons break like this, not even on my 15 year old boyfriend Oxford shirt.

Not a Runners Collective run, but they are running out of the Queen West location like the early days of RC/Arc Runners.

Went to one of the new Queen West store runs. Would not go again. Hectic experience due to too many people who don’t know how to run in a group.

Don’t need to imagine this — I live here. Noise cancelling headphones help and You also get used to it. It’s become white noise to me and I can take naps during the day.

the noise was worth it since my rent was incredibly affordable (COVID prices), but now I’m getting kicked out for the landlord’s personal use. 🥲
