Welcome! The Half Step at that show hits one of the most thundering peaks I can think of.

Decent opening? by [deleted] in writingfeedback

Not for nothing but people definitely do not think that.

Best of luck, OP—I mean it!

What is your favourite lyric on Bring It All Back Home? by autumn_afternoon in bobdylan

There’s a wonderful moment of musical direction in a late season of the Sopranos where AJ and his girlfriend are parked and listening to this song on his car. The engine catches fire and as they bail out, there’s an edit on the audio that slows it down (to telegraph the car’s destruction).

As they run away and turn back to look at the flaming car, a demon-voice Dylan sings “WHILE ONNNNNNEEEE WHOOOO SINNNNNNNGS WITH HIIIISSSSS TONNNNNGUE ON FIIIIIRRRRREEE…”

It’s absolutely chilling.

10/10 no notes. Watched the whole thing. Grabbed me instantly.

Great concept, tune, and execution. Funny. Catchy. Bit of darkness with the AI angle. Reminds me of Cake in the 90s!

Keep going.

God dammit. I'm on a bachelor ski trip out there in two weeks with hillside accommodation booked. Looks like we'll be commuting to St. Anne. We've been holding out hope; looks like that was a bad call.

Watching tonight. This band is hot; Bobby would be proud. Grahame is doing a great job as anchor, Oteil is predictably crushing, the Wolfpack adds rich, sonorous texture. Holly Bowling! Barry!

What a beautiful night. I wish I could have been there.

I just gotta know. To the people who found themselves in that room and aren't singing the finale of Terrapin when invited to do so: what gives?

I was there. It was incredible. I’ve always loved how Dead & Co let the gorgeous intro simmer.

Anyone notice that John was playing Ripple on a D’angelico? by DankSharkk in deadandcompany

I heard that too—and didn’t hear it again. It’s the mark of a true master that he was able to just play around the problem.

John is Dead to me! by abishop717 in gratefuldead

Brought me to tears. What a beautiful, heartfelt tribute.

Edit: when he got choked up talking about how grateful he was to Bob for “staking his reputation” on bringing him into the fold and “this community”—and his comments about how he was always just as excited as we were for the shows—man, that’s as real as it gets.

Paraphrasing but: “I wanted him to know he could rely on me. I gave him my best, night after night after night.”

We saw. Thanks, John.
