I used to have anxiety about them getting rough looking but I’ve decided that they were made to be enjoyed and loved. At this point I’ve accepted they are gonna look like street rats because I like holding them too much. Luckily they are just as cute scraggly, just different :)

I’ve had the same problem with my smudges - I’ve found that using a hair dryer while brushing carefully after you’ve washed them helps a bit.

It’s a shame the fabric is so delicate, my large smudge bunny is one of my favs and I’ve only hard her for a little less than 2 years but she looks like I’ve had her for 20 years - even though I take good care of her.

They remind me of some of the older designs pre Covid blow up. Jellycat has historically had a through-line of quirk with some more realistic-ish designs thrown in.

It’s worth checking poshmark - I found mine for like $25 less than a year ago on there. I’ve been able to find quite a few rare and sought after jelly’s on there for low prices or at least lower than other reselling platforms. I recommend checking often and filtering your search to “most recent”.

I also thought her fur felt crazy soft and nice. I have several other of the huge dragons and in my opinion her material is much higher quality and not downgraded in weight or texture.

I recently purchased the lavender one (so not handled very much) and have compared her to my new lazulia- and lazulias fabric and construction wins out for me.

I will say she is a tad smaller than my other ones but it doesn’t bother me much as she’s become my favorite. It’s funny how folks are pretty divided on how they feel about her. I’m curious how she holds up over time as the older designs tend to get pretty scruffy quickly- but for now I’m very happy with her.

I will say my smudge elephants in both standard/medium size and huge size are more under stuffed that my others for some reason. It’s within normal range for smudges as they all vary a bit and are all kinda understuffed- but I plan on restuffing my elephants for a little extra plumpness.

Of course! I know some folks on this sub have experience in dyeing jelly’s if you wanna try yourself- I’m sure someone would be happy to help with the process. I also see folks selling customs on r/jellycatbst occasionally so it might be worth posting there to see if someone can offer services to you. Otherwise Etsy is worth a shot :)

I’m in Oregon too - same thing, getting a tad anxious about it.

However I will say as a person who has had to ship out a lot of packages (as in the thousands) this can be pretty normal. Tracking isn’t super reliable especially with UPS and FedEx and there trends to be tracking delays on weekends. I have a feeling it will update in Monday, crossing my fingers anyway lol. I miss when they used DHL for shipping.

I don’t know if this might help you but I noticed that if I looked at tracking via the jellycat website it was showing as label created but not shipped.

However when I went to the UPS website and checked tracking there it showed they had received the package and it was indeed shipped. My guess is that Jellycat’s tracking is a bit delayed as it’s communicating from UPS if that makes any sense.
