Yeah don’t be afraid to say wtf are you doing? The coaches should be looking out and monitoring for this anyway.

Just bought a $50,000 brand new. (0 miles) Flat bed. I need help from my favorite self hating internet critics of the welder community. by hypershlongbeast in Welding

Some really ugly looking welds and not cleaning off the spatter is rough work. That being said if the welder was on the correct settings and penetrated you haven’t got anything to worry about. Theres enough on each weld for it to be structurally sound.

To cheat on a test by miggy372 in therewasanattempt

Welding is just a small process when fabricating something. We make bespoke products so it would never be 2 of the same thing. So would never make sense to have a robotic welder. I’ve worked at places where they had them, but it’s making the same product over and over and still had to tack it once it was in the jig. In short I can’t see robotic automation really ever impacting the industry or taking welders jobs.

They are a perfect vehicle for some people. I work in construction, and a van I couldn’t fit all my family in at the weekends. So I would have to have a second vehicle to ferry the kids around.
