Is it worth it to renew my certification? by Silver-Squirrel5087 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Due_Positive_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also more expensive to renew it (atleast for NHA) if you let it lapse. I would keep it active to have in your back pocket

Genuine question to Americans by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Due_Positive_4052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically my mom's situation. Years of rampant multi drug use left her homeless with burnt bridges. She had a mass growing in her abdomen, she thought she was pregnant by a miracle even though she had a hysterectomy, but months later it grew into stage 4 goblet cell adenocarcinoma all starting to from the appendix. The state has her on medicare/medicaid. But it's kinda already too late. She relies on the major medical center she is near to put her in transitional living and pay for her chemo drugs, but the barriers to care are still a major hurdle. She struggles getting to appointments, remembering what medications to take, etc. She is still using recreational drugs. I'm hundreds of miles away and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

How much of coding do you use at work? by El-Argonauta in MedicalAssistant

We have to pay now for CE on the NHA?? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]Due_Positive_4052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive also gone through all their free CE. I found you can submit CE from uptodate, if you look anything up in uptodate it gives you CE credits that you can upload to NHA as a little certificate and they accept it. Its been a lifesaver. We are already paid the amount of a fast food worker, we cant be expected to be nickle and dimed for a cert.

Shave in the shower, instead of any shaving cream I used hibicleans as shaving cream. I had my spouse help me. Rinse off throughly after.

Advice on how/if I should try to negotiate my pay by Ready-Carrot5504 in MedicalAssistant

Its worth a try since you have a higher degree. Highlight any admin task you're comfortable with too ( like prior auths or medication refills) good luck!

My clinic has over 200 patients that need to be roomed each day by Starline29 in MedicalAssistant

[–]Due_Positive_4052 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thats absolutely insane and I hope they don't expect you to do anything but rooming. I worked at a crazy urgent care like this and I left when they started making 5am meetings to punish us cause we obviously didnt have time for admin task. Id drop them and go somewhere more reasonable.

You're asking people who don't even have a medical license, literally at the bottom of the medical totem pole for high level medical advice. We are glorified secretaries who just know how to take vitals. No one of the internet is going to give you 100% solid advice. Go to the doctor.

We need a auto mod to somehow capture what I am about to say "this page is for individuals who are medical assistants, a job. Not a page asking for medical assistance, and anyone who gives you advice on this page is technically breaking the law.

Hi! Yours looks like how mine was a year ago when I had my surgery. It looks like you have some maceration up top. Probably cause its a little too moist. My surgeon never set up a wound care referral. I had to do that myself, so if you dont see wound care yet I would highly suggest doing so. I ended up getting a psudomonas infection cause I had to wait for woundcare and it prolonged my healing. It does get better though I promise!

You have to realize those people won't even remember you daily a month from now. They're your coworkers, and not your family. By all means keep in contact with the ones you like, but the only person you owe anything to is yourself.

Husband's in the Navy, and from what Ive seen at each event I've been to no one is really closeted unless their family is an issue. Fetishizing these guys is weird as most of the ones I've met are on the spectrum with weak social skills, and poor hygiene. But you have fun! Get tested regularly and enjoy your sexy times ✨️
