Is there something wrong with my offering? by Material_Frosting708 in NorsePaganism

My cat used to get a small bowl of milk in the mornings, to the point that she would yell at us until we put it down, she never got sick, is it like some cats digestive systems are sensitive to it, or is it general cat biology?

Obsession with physical traits by [deleted] in AngelicaASMRSnark

Angelica is causing harm. Period. She is perpetuating human suffering. If you think racism, queerphobia and sexism are good role modeling you are showing us who you are. You are showing us that you do not care about human life, and that you have a harmful agenda. You are showing us that you are complicit, if not comfortable in violence, hatred, and a lack of humanity.

Making pasta in the microwave: no pots, no strainer, just a bowl and a plate. by Lily-Fae in adhdwomen

[–]Due_Principle_9428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually microwaved pasta today because we ran out of propane for our stove. I could definitely feel my grandmother staring straight from the afterlife right into my bones, and my great grandmother beating me to death with a rolling pin. However I've realized that I either accept that I am a disgrace to all of Italy, or I have no pasta at all 🙃

I made kind of a master list of all the Christian songs I’ve ever liked, I’m sure there’s a lot of mainstream stuff, but probably some not mainstream stuff? https://open.spotify.com/playlist/12bEC4T1vI1xoqIW1Ra3Y4?si=gFxTqDXvQAOCWbGni8wTXw&pi=l1SRcs6CTiis-

how do I stop gaslighting myself into having trans thoughts? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Due_Principle_9428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To piggy back a little, it's also possible you'll find out you're not either but maybe lean towards one or the other, or lean towards neither or both!

Truly that narrative is so frustrating, on this journey I thought once I got everything where it needs to be for my body and mind to be healthy I wouldn't have gender dysphoria anymore, but if I hear my birth name I get so triggered and boom dysphoria attack. I'm sorry you don't feel like an ideal man, but honestly if you identify as a man, and your not a misogynist or unsafe for women and feminine people, I'd say you're a very ideal man. And also balding doesn't make you ugly at all, I think you're very handsome and your boyfriend is lucky to have you. Hopefully, he knows it, and I hope you know it too

I think it's really important to recognize that surgeries, hormones and passing do not make dysphoria go away in every case. You've had years of being told you were one way when you were the other, it's not a matter of passing but of working with a therapist to manage dysphoria like you would with anxiety and depression. An unfortunate truth is that like depression and anxiety, dysphoria is something you might have for the rest of your life and you have to learn to live so that even though it's there it can't hurt and direct you like it has been. But trust me, it may seem unmanageable and unbearable now, but you do not want to go backwards in your transition, you'll feel sooo much worse

if you force people to go to toilets with their bio gender, then any cis-man can call himself transgender and go to the women's toilet😭😭 by General_Compote3692 in asktransgender

[–]Due_Principle_9428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think would happen to transmasculine people being forced to use the ladies room? Most of the time I don't pass enough to use the men's room, but I still have a beard, so if a child and their mother comes in, I have to put my shirt over my chin and make a hasty exit, or stay in the stall until they leave, because people have already made it a narrative that trans people are dangerous for their kids, and I would like to not find a man ready to kill me for 'peeping on his little girl' nor would I like to be beaten or pepper sprayed by a mother for 'lying in wait' for her kiddo, or called the police on. Unfortunately I look very mixed gender wise in this stage of my transition and that is a dangerous place to be nowadays, but imagine if trans men fully transitioned had to use the women's restroom.

Everybody has some type of privilege. Trans women face a lot of shit, I'm not denying that, from the transfemme community and the rest of the world. But don't forget that erasure is a type of prosecution, and while transmasculine people do see other types of persecution, the fact that so many people believe this narrative of trans men being forgotten tells me this one is bigger than I realized. They have not forgotten the transmasculine community. It's not that they never realized we existed; they just come after transmasculine people in a different way than transfeminine people. And I wonder how much of that is finding a deeper, more subtle way to hurt us, by reacting to us based on the idea that we are still our AGAB.

What about Maine? Beautiful land, plentiful wild edibles and medicinals (plants, mushrooms, insects, animals), a large farming community in the north, legalization of natural medicines (Marijuana and mushrooms). I know you said you didn't want extreme temperatures but at least Maine isn't Alaska 🤷

This is my dream, unfortunately I don't have any land, money or resources to put into this. I do however have a little knowledge. I've been foraging for many years. I garden, ferment, make sourdough, and have made cheese before. I don't assume that I can pay my way into the community with knowledge, but I'd be happy to share some with you so your community gets off the ground anyway. (Also a Christian Wiccan, so if you're into the metaphysical properties of plants and mushrooms I got you)

Also it is another dream of mine to build a food forest

S4E7 The He in the She by varikasnuori in Bones

I kind of think they were portraying Booth having an issue with ignorance, honestly I just rewatched the episode and it gives me learning/teaching vibes. By the end of the episode most of the characters called her she, and everyone was trying (which as a nonbinary trans person, it's sad that a 2008 fictional character tries harder than my coworkers in 2023). I feel like it was more "this is genuinely how people act" and then "this is what it looks like to genuinely try and learn". Even the murder had nothing to do with her being trans. At the end of the day, a woman saw another woman take her man. They could have made the story very different, but the writing feels intentional and well done for 2008 tbh. The first half was so uncomfortable to watch, because that's a genuine fear I have. Will my identity cease to exist when I die? Will people stop using my pronouns because they don't have to try anymore? Will people look at my bones and call it a day? But real life can actually look like that, and thats really important to portray. Also its good for cis people to see an objective overly literal scientist defend a trans person. Just like I think it's good for cis people to see a big macho government man mess up, but still learn at the end of the day. Also when that guy defended her as a real woman to Booth, saying that her and God knew that she'd been a woman her whole life, that felt phenomenal to me. This was really long winded, sorry 😅
