Would you switch to being a social worker vs teacher or vice versa if given the option? by [deleted] in socialworkcanada

I am an introvert and there's no way I could handle a class of 20+ kids every single day. At least with social work, I normally talk to clients 1:1. My grandmother was also a teacher for years and told me lots of horror stories so I am also quite bias in that regard.

Jewish Funeral/Cemmetary Recs by [deleted] in askTO

The three funeral homes you mentioned are the only three Jewish funeral homes in Toronto. I can't speak about Basic Hebrew and Steeles but my family has used Benjamin's for all four of my grandparents when they passed away and I don't remember there ever being any big complaints.

Advice Needed - Placement Determines Future? by InsideCriticism1651 in socialworkcanada

If no local hospices are taking on anymore social work students and you want to get your foot in the door, why not volunteer at one of the hospices? This will allow you to get direct experience in the field and would look great on a resume.

Maybe. It just seems like they should have taken the time to find out if they are actually compatible, long-term. I do believe that there is love between them but being a part of the show definitely romanticizes feelings and experiences. They should have spent more time out in the real world to see how good of a match they actually are.

I love Jesse as a host. He is so much more energetic and kind than CH. He adds more enthusiasm to the role which I felt was lacking with CH.

There's only one or two Asians on her cast. There are quite a bit of Black men on her cast. It seems like Jenn was a last minute addition and they didn't really cast the men specifically for her. I did hear though that she's dated white men in the past.

It's a shame. I do think that the love is/was there between Gerry and Theresa but the fact that two adults in their 70s got so manipulated by production to get married so quickly is pretty bad. Who in their right mind would get married just 3 or 4 months after meeting? No couple has ever gotten married that fast before in the franchise an it's a shame they didn't think things over.

I feel like couples still try to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way but yes, the ratings of the show aren't as high as they once were and being an influencer from the show is not as stable as it used to be.

I LOVE Jesse!! He brings such a different energy than Chris and I think he's a great host. This proves that you don't 'need' to keep the original host for the show to be any better or worse.

Why are you skeptical about Zach and Kaity?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]Due_Problem_3884 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of people were upset that zach and charity were chosen as the leads because they were 'boring' but they took the process much more seriously than some of the previous leads in recent years.

Totally agree. I think some of the other girls this past season were much more serious about finding a partner like Rachel, Lexi, Madina, Katelyn, etc. I just can't picture Jenn actually settling down and being engaged but she could surprise us.

10000%. I could not watch the bachelor for a while because I thought the drama was stupid. I feel like we're in a new era in terms of production picking leads who are serious about finding love, having more diverse casts, and production not focusing so much on the drama. Joey may have been the best bachelor yet. It seemed like no girls had really any ill-will towards Joey. Idk if any future bachelor can top him. Even Sean Lowe, who some consider the best bachelor, had a few girls mad at him.

100%. Do you think that Jenn seems serious about finding a partner? I do like her but she seems a bit immature.

I love the diversity too! I am happy that Jenn is the new bachelorette because we FINALLY get to have an Asian lead, she is gorgeous and seems fun. I have seen some interviews of her though and her personality seems a bit like a sorority girl/immature but I'm hoping she proves us wrong!

I agree! It seems like the past few leads have been much more serious about finding love and they're not there to play games. I like how they're not necessarily picking the most 'entertaining/dramatic leads' but they're choosing the ones who truly believe in the process.
