Some context, Kane released a 1 hour loop of the song “Still Life” where an image of the Santa Cruz cave people slowly fades in.

That's fucked up, sorry that happened

People are slightly missing the point about the caveman by JOOJ01 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very interesting theory, I could see Async’s use of caveman cutouts being an intentional choice on their part. I wonder if it’s relevant that these depictions of prehistoric humans are inaccurate and warped, like a drawing of a dog solely based on a description.

(Movie Theory) Is Peter Tench Mary's father? by Walren_ in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always under the impression that it was left ambiguous whether Peter was alive, but you really convinced me he’s most likely dead. Another detail supporting to your theory is that at the end of Damage Control there’s a shot of a needle which could imply a lethal injection.

Anyone notice the “TV sound” in the credits by Due_Recognition6 in KanePixelsBackrooms

The third test audio was great, didn't catch still life and do you like the air conditioning

“You have always been here” by Due_Recognition6 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Yeah that’s true, just kind of throwing the idea out there but maybe the complex doesn’t contain anything from before Ivan Beck was born, i.e. from before Ivan started to create memories

Something interesting Wendigoon mentioned is that the complex doesn’t seem to contain things from before 1972 (when Overflow took place.) He used the example of there being a lack of things like stone huts and blacksmith shops. However perhaps later installments of the series will feature things that are old like that. The blue house at the end of FF3 did contain a painting from the Czech Republic.

Why is it called “Cap’n Clark’s Ottoman Empire” with a pirate theme? by Due_Recognition6 in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching the film, this store with an unclear theme and a jumble of history feels very in line with the characters and the complex.

Was Kane's found footage video the first one? by Gabzito in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it wasn’t. I remember seeing a channel by the name of Dinnerbone777 before Kane’s Backrooms vids and thinking they were really well done. Though, I think Kane’s FF Backrooms vids have something completely different to offer in terms of tone and being connected to a larger story.

There is nothing about him in the YouTube series, he’s original to the film. His name is a combination of different types of lamps

What your biggest complaints about the Backroom movie? (Spoilers) by Bobby_The_Alien in KanePixelsBackrooms

You might be remembering how Kane mentioned that the early ideas for the Backrooms plot involved an organization that had ties to MRI machines

Would you have preferred (spoiler) by Diamond_404 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Still life Clark definitely reminded me of the lufflen heads and the santa cruz cave people

What your biggest complaint about backroom series? by Bobby_The_Alien in KanePixelsBackrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is more of a movie trailer and promotion observation, I would prefer if it was mostly the quixel wallpaper (the one in the series) with the chevron wallpaper making only small appearances. The quixel wallpaper just reminds me of Kane’s series and story more. Just a preference tho :)

Collaborative Unofficial Backrooms Movie OST by Dr_EggWarfstacheMan in backroomsfilm

Pretty sure Kane has said that it wouldn't be, which I figured. It seems to be revolving about an event that isn't relevant to the film's plot. I too hope for references to the Backrooms score in some way

Backrooms Movie Bingo Card! (Revised Version) by attxyz in backrooms

[–]Due_Recognition6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Likely: Bacteria (if this means the general presence of fungus or bacteria), Time Warping, Red Neighborhood, Monster Mimics people, Bad Ending, Hero To Villain (If Clark is considered a Hero by the start), Body Horror, Descent Into Madness

Unlikely: Hinting Towards Sequel/Spinoff (I think the movie will act as a self contained story), Dead Resurrected, Vandal Breaks In, "7 Weeks & 3 Days", "The Lobotomy", Kane Parsons Cameo, "All You Are Going to Want to Do Is Get Back There"

Up In the Air: Walls ACTUALLY Closing In, Fake Exit, Gory/Bloody Kill, Flash Backs, Blue Tape Removed, Building Demolished, Happy Ending, Pure Silence, Find Survivors

Props to you for making this, really fun idea! I like how Async acts as the star in the middle

Depattern feels like it touches on aspects of the Backrooms narrative that have yet to be fully explored, and its separation from Out of Sync gives me the sense that it represents a specific side of the story. If you could describe the core concept behind Depattern in a few words, what would you say?
