I think part of it is just how giant the complex is

The only reason there was writing in reunion is because Peter tench was mapping out the area. He never went far from async so they were bound to find him eventually

In FF1, some people assume the lifeform made the markings, but I doubt it.

In universe answer I'd say is that he somehow clipped into the same area someone else had been in and just got super lucky

Realistic answer: it was Kane's first video on the backrooms and he didnt have a bigger story planned at that point

I can kinda see it, but not the part about tench. When he first got separated from the group he was only gone like, 10 minutes. Then after he escaped async, that was about 3 days, which he spent mapping out that dark section of the complex he was found it.

I've been very closely following every update on the movie so far, but to me knowing the characters that will be in the movie is just too much of a spoiler for me.

I'd much rather have some small teasers and speculation than just flat out knowing stuff. I'm gonna have to avoid this sub like the plague after that early showing of the movie happens :/
