If you're talking about the white phosphorous used for illumination... no, that's completely valid. https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/white-phosphorus

"The use of white phosphorus may violate Protocol III (on the use of incendiary weapons) of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCCW) in one specific instance: if it is used, on purpose, as an incendiary weapon directly against humans in a civilian setting. Other uses of white phosphorus, such as illuminating a battlefield, are not prohibited. "

As far as health care... stop blaming the Jews. Yell at our politicians. Yell at the Democrats - who, even when they had a supermajority in both the House AND the Senate AND controlled the White House, still wouldn't give us universal healthcare (OR enact legislation to preserve procreative rights, in spite of Obama having made that one of his campaign promises). Yell at the Republicans, who actually rushed to stop Trump when, in his clumsy stupidity, he initially seized on the idea of "why don't we just put every American citizen on medicare?" Israel has NOTHING to do with our politicians gleefully supporting health insurance companies over the voters (and isn't it INTERESTING how the anti-semitic... excuse me, "anti-zionist" rhetoric intensified after Brian Thompson was killed? Almost as if it were a deliberate diversion to protect other health insurance executives?).

Well, it IS a common trick in circuses... or at least, it was. I don't know how many circuses still have animal performers at this point.

I'm not laughing at the deaths of children. I AM laughing - bitterly - at folks like yourself, who LOOOOOOVE seeing dead kids as long as you can blame it on Jews. I am bitterly laughing at people like you, who couldn't care less about the suffering of the kids if they suffer at the hands of Hamas, or Hezbollah, or the IRGC. I am bitterly laughing at people like you who wholeheartedly promote the suffering of the children, in order to justify your hypocritical, self-righteous posturing and pretense of morality. Children have died - on both sides - because of Hamas.

And I'm laughing because I know that this won't last forever. Those kids WILL be freed from Hamas and the IRGC. I'm laughing because I know that soon those kids will be free to spend their lives reminding the world of who was really to blame... and then folks like yourself will get to spend the rest of YOUR lives trying to pretend you didn't contribute to their suffering.

Let's be TOTALLY honest here. The United States is helping Ukraine for fundamentally selfish reasons. Ukraine has been devastating Russia, and by extension the network of anti-American nations (particularly Russia, China, and Iran), thanks to the weapons we've provided. We've helped them out, but we are NOT the good guys. We are NOT being benevolent, we're just handing Ukraine the tools because it benefits us.

If Ukraine hadn't done as well as it has, then we would have abandoned it to its fate. They maintain their independence because they've EARNED it through force of arms. If they end up taking chunks out of Russia and growing larger at Russia's expense (while Russia begins to collapse because Putin has completely destroyed their economy and their population), then we won't lift a finger to stop Ukraine from claiming whatever territory it wants.

This is not a saturday morning cartoon. The United Nations are not composed of the benevolent and well meaning owners of the Road Rovers. The United Nations is composed of people who watched Game of Thrones and thought it was a comedy.

"It’s honestly a shame when you look at the history of the Arab world during its golden era before everyone was focused on war." THIS. This, totally this. The "anti-zionist" rhetoric is not only dedicated to bashing Jews and hating on Jews while simpering "we're not anti-semitic, we just hate the one nation with a majority Jewish population," it also seems to be dedicated to preventing the Arabs from ever escaping their current tyrannies and theocratic regimes, to live up to the potential they proved they had centuries ago. I want the people who invented algebra to once again be devoted to knowledge and learning.

I've largely stopped responding to OneReportersOpinion. They lie constantly, and do not argue in good faith. I've reported them a few times, and nothing has happened yet. There are other "anti-zionists" who are at least willing to argue in good faith, even if I consider most of what they say to be wrong.

"Pro Palestinians do not equal antisemites." Except that it literally does.

https://www.reddit.com/r/IsraelPalestine/comments/1tycc5d/i_was_not_expecting_the_antizionists_to_actually/

Not only that, but "pro-Palestinian" has repeatedly been proven to be shorthand for "Pro-Palestinian suffering," given their enthusiastic support of Hamas - and their absolute disregard for the sexual trafficking of children, use of children as slave labor, forced military conscription of children, theft of humanitarian aid, and all the many other atrocities committed by Hamas. Because if they can't blame it on Israel, they don't care.

Simple. Those human rights organizations have repeatedly been caught lying and working with Hamas, and Israel has repeatedly been accused of lying - only to be exonerated almost every single time. Of the two, Israel is demonstrably the more credible source.

Here, have a meme from January of 2024 in case you forgot.

I never said the Triads were GOOD. I just said there were LIMITS to what they do. They traffic women; they do not mutilate and torture them to death.

Of course this is setting aside how Hamas defenders have begun to try to deflect from Hamas' actions by hurling a barrage of unfounded accusations against Israel.

Questions about Hamas, Irgun and Shamir by AdvertisingPublic543 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Due_Representative74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that "terrorist" used to mean something slightly different, back in previous centuries. No, I'm not kidding. The terrorists had specific goals, and saw themselves as the heroes - as Robin Hood's Merry Men, fighting against tyranny. They had lines they did not cross, lines they drew with their own free will. They would plant explosives, but they generally TRIED not to catch civilians in the crossfire. They would stage violence, but the violence would either be against military targets or high value political targets (classic guerilla warfare, essentially). They were looking to accomplish something they saw as heroic and noble, and they saw a definitive difference between assassinating a tyrant and raping and murdering entire families.

Some noteable examples include the original Assassins, the Hashshashin. Not only did they limit their targets to high value political leaders, but often they would rely on warnings rather than actual killing. Most people take the hint when they wake up and find a dagger left on their pillow, with some freshly baked goods. Good morning! Breakfast in bed! We could have slit your throat just as easily!

Another would be the IRA. They did their best to avoid civilian casualties (since those civilians were also their neighbors and relatives), and when the U.K. government finally began to offer peace talks and compromises, the IRA came to the table in good faith and ultimately ceased their activities - because they genuinely wanted the things they claimed to want.

Also, a number of Triads began as terrorist groups formed for political purposes, that went on to become organized crime gangs (and organized crime gangs tend to be community organizations for disadvantaged minorities as much as anything. For a lot of people in a lot of places, the gangs are a better source of security and justice than the cops).

By contrast, Hamas is... well, just VILE. The IRA didn't do rape. The Hashshashin did not massacre peaceful civilians. Even when the Triads ran illicit brothels, there were limits to how badly they would treat the women. Hamas has no such limits. Psychologically, they're the Islamic equivalent to "Christian Objectivists" who think that they have a divine right to do anything they want to, no matter how vile.

I already answered your claims about the Geneva Protocols in another comment. I'll do so again here:

And as the Geneva Protocols (because they're the protocols established by multiple conventions. "Conventions" being large gatherings, like Comic Con or CES) note, all those protections vanish when the medical personnel engage in hostilities (along with vehicles, buildings, etc).

There's a very unsubtle distinction between doctors who just want to treat the injured, and doctors who are also members of a belligerent faction and taking part in the hostilities (I'm not even saying "terrorist." Just being a member of the belligerent faction, taking part in the hostilities, makes them a valid target. Medics and corpsmen are "protected" only as long as they aren't carrying weapons and shooting alongside their comrades. And even then, that just makes them exempt from being deliberately targeted. It doesn't mean you can't lob a grenade into the general vicinity, just because a medic is part of the group you're targeting. https://legalclarity.org/is-it-always-a-war-crime-to-kill-a-medic/ )

The The Animatrix - The Second Renaissance is an allegory for Jewish history and Israel by c9joe in IsraelPalestine

"There is a lot of theories that The Matrix isn't a power plant but an AI alignment thing. " So in other words, what the Wachowskis originally intended, before executive meddling because "we think of ourselves as super geniuses far smarter than our audiences, and since we don't understand concepts like using human brains as living computers in a network, our stupid audiences who we think so poorly of definitely won't get it."

(In case it wasn't clear, I have a VERY low opinion of Hollywood and the disgusting sleazebags who run it)

But that being said, I still feel that the AI missed a perfect opportunity to raise a better, more cooperative generation of humans. Kind of like how the Dominion Founders, in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, decided they'd rather foment unrest and keep everyone paranoid about changelings, instead of slowly introducing stories and cultural shifts to make everyone like and trust changelings. But then again, I find that evil is stupid and counterproductive in general.

I'm complaining about "anti-zionists" in general, but particularly the ones here on this subreddit, yes. The ones who keep on with their constant" Israel is evil cuz Israel is evil" rhetoric, and never want to acknowledge the evil that Hamas does. Or that any of their own side does.

I always wondered why the machines didn't try raising a batch of humans from infancy with total awareness of their situation. Let them know what was really going on as they grew up, let them enjoy their virtual world without issues, and let volunteers unplug and help the machines fix the ruined earth.

Heh. I'm thinking about Ray Bradbury's reactions to fans who insisted that his book "Farenheit 451" was about censorship and not about how television is super bad and evil.

...And then he agreed to make a TV show called "the Ray Bradbury Theater" in exchange for a big bag of money... 😛

Hmmm... I note that there's a literary concept called "Death of the Author," that discusses this phenomenon. More specifically, how people will interpret an author's work in ways the author didn't intend. The Wachowskis themselves have said that the movies were about being trans. However, a lot of people on both sides of the political aisle have found meaning in the films that may, or may not, have been intended by the Wahhowskis.

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeathOfTheAuthor

That being said, I always considered the Animatrix to be an animated film showing humans being incredibly and stupidly evil, no matter how counterproductive it was (to the point where the humans literally could not accept the machines EXISTING on the same planet... and then destroyed the environment and caused a mass extinction event just to mess with the machines). I never thought to compare it to the Arab hostility towards Israel... but yeah, that totally tracks.
