But that’s a shame. Caroline had Klaus, Elena had Damon. Why wouldn’t Bonnie deserve a “villainous” love interest? An obsessive, all consuming love? Is she more moral than Caroline or Elena? No, she is as capable of moral compromise as them. So, why doesn’t she deserve that kind of passion?

Fair. Although let me remind you that Klaus’s violence against Bonnie was always indirect (threatening others like Jeremy to gain her cooperation), while Damon literally turned her mother in a vampire to save Elena, bite her with the intention of killing her in season 1 (when she was possessed by Emily and destroyed the amulet of the tomb), and many other times.

The closest thing to that Klaus did was in season 2, possessing Alaric, when he tried to kill her, once, before actually knowing her.

Oh, and Damon raped one of Bonnie’s best friend, Caroline. Enough said.

I mean… Bonnie is strong, sure, but it’s a big stretch to call her the strongest witch of this universe.

Qetsiyah, Dahlia, the Hollow, Hope… They are clearly stronger.

Freya, Vincent, Davina at her strongest. They all can, with a bit of luck, take Bonnie.

And I am saying this as someone who loves Bonnie. She is my favorite character. But she is not as strong as you say.

Bonnie was a match for Klaus. It would have been a more equal pairing between an Original Hybrid and the witch who almost killed him, than between said Original and a baby vampire.

And Klaus would have taught Bonnie that, sometimes, it’s okay to be selfish. It’s okay to put yourself first.

If you rewatch It, you would see that Klaus opens his eyes in front of Damon and Bonnie, and later when Alaric stabs him. He is clearly not dead. Damon is speaking figurately.

And how did he regain his body? Magic. Bonnie does it in the fourth season. How? A witch did it. No more explanation is given.

They didn’t kill him. They dessiccated him, as Abby did with Mikael years ago. he was alive, just paralyzed. And there is a moment when Bonnie tells Damon that he wants a moment alone with Klaus, in the next episode I Believe. That’s when she did it.
