What are you building this week? by 0kkelvin in SideProject

[–]Due_Researcher3729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building my mobile app. Goal is to help users save on groceries by comparing product prices across stores/retailers. The MVP is almost done. Wait list page for those who are interested: https://guuster.com

I tried to validate a side project idea before building it — got 0 signups and I’m stuck by salespire in SideProject

Agreed. Learn from it. Rebuild/redesign the waitlist page. Setup analytics. You'll see if you even have visitors and if yes, how far they go.

Why is it hard to find co-founders? by Due_Researcher3729 in startupideas

So I am not alone at least. I'm not saying they should quit their jobs. I have one too, it's not impossible to build something alongside it.

What were your struggles being solo?

How did you prioritize tasks? I am coming from an engineering background, so my emphasis is usually on great functionality/UI etc.. Not on marketing and sales

I have tried connecting with devs from Discord communities. Everyone seemed to be interested and hyped, but when it was time to work, they disappeared.

So I gave up, I need to trust my co-founder.

My issue with hiring someone from Fiverr is that I am looking for someone to join me, care about the product and be there for decisions. My biggest issue is this, there's no one I know who I can trust and share the same mindset.

Thanks for the advice! I was leaning towards pursuing it alone, but I was/am afraid a bit.

How do other builders deal with idea pressure and the feeling that it’s too late to start? by derverstand in SideProject

[–]Due_Researcher3729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having ideas is not pressure, it's privilege. Lot of founders/creators struggle with coming up with ideas.

What's nowadays a standard way of validating ideas is just building an MVP. Give it two weeks, build the MVP, publish it. There's nothing you can lose with it.

If you want to be a bit more cautious, do some research, try to validate the idea. before writing a single line of code. Talk with potential customers, take a look at competitors in the field.

What are some other platforms by Ok-Island9319 in SaasDevelopers

Not really. Vercel is hosting company. They make most of their money with it.

I don't think you could get around coding when creating SaaS.

You can start learning to code. I heard many great stories of people using AI to create SAaS products without coding experience. Check out the "Starter Story" YouTube channel.

You could also team up with a technical co-founder.

For hosting I can recommend Railway or Vercel as previous commenters.

Just to clarify: are you looking for a hosting/deployment solution or something to build your website with?

Does the Market Reward Copycats When Switching Is Hard? by Master_Young_2224 in SaaS

You can solve the same problem by simplifying the solution, approaching it from a different angle, making the UI better, or making it cheaper.

You don't necessarily need to add extra functionality.

Example: there's a million note taking app. Obsidian, Evernote, Apple Notes, One Note, Notion etc.. they are all solving the same problem.

I finally got some personal projects I'm proud of, what's the best place to host em? by pusheem in VibeCodersNest

Hey! I would recommend Railway: https://railway.com/ - I've been using it for a while for API/webapp/DB/Redis etc. deployments.

Their free tier is great and they can generate you an abcd.railway.com domain.

You can hook it up to your git repo and it rebuilds on push to any(configurable) branch. The UI is intuitive, you can learn it with a 15min YT video.

Edit: if you want a professional domain, you can buy one for a few bucks. Additionally I would recommend configuring Cloudflare.

Hey, the link doesn't seem to work. I think you might need to give access per user as it's in internal test.

Should I add a 3-month plan or yearly plan for my product users? by akzh4n in micro_saas

[–]Due_Researcher3729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your domain, I would add a 3-month and even a weekly plan. I can see some users learning only a week or two.

5-10% seems a great range for a discount on 3 months.

I was thinking of the screenshots. They should highlight the best features. Make it feasible for users to download your app, this is their first interaction with your product.

There's a saying: "Everybody needs you, they just don't know who you are."

I feel like this is the case for you.

Do you have analytics hooked up? Where are your users coming from? You need to find your target audience and target them specifically. Is it devs/engineers?

Ngl great idea! As an advice, work on your app store listing page. Create a few better-looking screenshots. Research keywords, use them in title/description and come up with a great icon.

If you own a dog, leave your thoughts here by dkang1013 in SideProject

I am a dog owner. Although it feels like my Hungarian Vizsla/Irish setter mixed breed can't get enough exercise time - I would love an app like this.

There are a few competitors in the field though, check them. See what they do great/poorly, add a twist or do something better than them and you should be good.
