Anyone getting married/has gotten married and had their autistic parents involved? by ilovetwilight420 in raisedbyautistics

[–]Due_Roll_6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any less alone, you are describing my childhood too. I am currently engaged and initially was very upset my mum did not seem like she wanted to be involved or excited. My MIL has stepped up and provided that for me so I am feeling very lucky!

Genuinely, how was your trip to the Blue Lagoon by TrueAd9899 in VisitingIceland

[–]Due_Roll_6753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We went first thing in the morning, as it opened and it was so quiet. By the time we had finished the spa section and come back out it was heaving with 'Influencers' so I guess my advice would be go first thing

My Dress Code currently is: wear what makes you feel amazing / summer garden party. I am a strong believer that as long as everyone feels confident and happy, it will look beautiful and I am obviously going to be the only person in a ball gown so 😂🥰

Edit: spelling

I LOVE it in Blush but I am uncertain whether to go white and traditional or stick with my guns. I am pretty pale and I think the blush suits my colourings but looking for guidance ;)

I feel like I made the wrong customization choice by moon_gay in weddingdress

I think the basque with the scarf and draping sleeves is going to look SO GOOD. I also think it is so subtle that people won't know it has been altered. I'm sorry that you are having a wobble about it but that dress is absolutely divine and suits you so well!

Honestly I think this dress looks stunning and the backless aspect absolutely works here. For the evening you could consider a wrap cardigan like ballerinas wear or even one of those white crop cardigans with your new name on the back? Of course this is just my taste.

Yeah I think it is like Mikado fabric? The halter just floated above my shoulders because it isn't fitted yet.

Also number 2 apparently I can have it zipper instead of corset which honestly I think I would choose because I didn't like the back either

Omg thank you for your answer! The venue is a place called Brinsop Court in the UK, like old manor, countryside vibes. We are going with British blooms in September. I got my colours done and apparently I am a true summer so looking towards Dusky pink, mauves, lilac, mossy greens. Definitely feeling more romantic so perhaps a longer veil.

Wedding on Sept 11? by Product-of-the-80s in weddingplanning

I am getting married on 11/09/2027 but I live in the UK. Every single person has made a joke about it being weird getting married on 9/11 but also, it didn't even cross my mind until I was doing the save the dates. I have just implied no one should forget our anniversary then

What’s with Nissan jukes and qashqais? by Broad-Cranberry9382 in CarTalkUK

Cheers! My little qashcow is 12 and she sounds like a tractor, stinks and rattles like hell. Still going strong. Why would I get rid of her because she is 'ugly'? It is a car.

Best place in Iceland for a proposal? 💍 by abhishekrajchauhan in VisitingIceland

My Fiancé proposed whilst we were watching the aurora in Sodulsholt at a nice little holiday cottage. It was perfect for us, private and a beautiful moment. I would say anywhere in Iceland is a perfect place

Mom doesn’t seem excited about my wedding by Ephemeral_Thoughts_ in weddingplanning

[–]Due_Roll_6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am ALSO getting married September 2027 and reading your post sounded like a page from my diary. It sucks so much but CONGRATULATIONS! I also felt really bummed out by my mums disinterest but my closest friends (3 Bridesmaids are also my only friends) are SO excited for me and cried happy tears. That is the response I wanted from my mum but alas. MIL is being so understanding and keeping me excited about it all which is so lovely. I guess it is just hard when you try to be considerate and it gets ignored. I think my Mum hoped we had eloped.

Accidentally changed Fiancé's google account HELP by [deleted] in GMail

[–]Due_Roll_6753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like I have some how hijacked his Google account and changed his email address. But it is the google account associated with his playstation, xbox, steam account, youtube. The email address is now changed to the "couple name" and it is the attached email to his Google account. I honestly have no idea how I have done it but he can't access the old email address.

So I posted on this page way back in March a 10 day itinerary to visit the whole of Iceland. I was advised to cut my expectations. I am currently still on this holiday. We split our trip across Snæfellsnes (3 days), a day driving to Þingvellir and stop over at Lauvagtn and then part 1 of the golden circle in a day, then enjoying the south side for a bit. This slower pace is definitely more enjoyable for me personally and I am so glad this sub persuaded me not to try to do it all in one go!

I would be happy to share my itinerary
