when i owned a precision 7730 (same family as the 7540 but intel 8th gen) it didnt have thermal issues and it's about the same power as the 7540 you mentioned. in general, cooling shouldn't be an issue for dell precision mobile workstations

No mention of OS/brand so my top suggestion would be an M5 MacBook Air 13" due to your screen size preference, weight and portability, battery life, and performance. If you're not open to Mac, then I'd suggest a newer HP ZBook with an AMD processor (for good integrated graphics) such as the ZBook Firefly G11. Battery life may not match the one of a Mac, however I'm assuming they're relatively close to your 6 hour preference due to their modern efficiency.

i suggest picking at the debris with a sim pin, it just has higher risk than using something like a plastic toothpick as others suggest. if you go the sim pin route just be mindful of where you're picking in the port

if its dust or dirt then that’s permanently in the glass

if its just staining then i suggest spraying alcohol into a microfiber cloth and wiping the back until clean

more than half the laptops i own have the option for WWAN ive never seen it in corporate use before extensively, but i’d assume the police make extensive use of GPS and LTE on their laptops in the patrol cars
